Nightmares / Trouble Sleeping
First Doctor
"What are you still doing up?"
You walked into the library, finding the Doctor sitting on a sofa, reading with a lamp on.
"Why are you?" You countered.
He looked back at his book. "I'm a Time Lord. We do not require as much rest as humans do."
You sat beside him and pulled the blanket over your shoulders tighter. "What are you reading?"
"Go back to bed." He told you.
You shook your head and moved closer, resting your elbow on the back of the sofa, placing your head on your hand. "Read to me."
He looked at you, sighing before finding his place. You smiled at him, eyes closing as he finished the third page, and he closed the book, standing up. He placed the book down and moved you, so you were lying comfortably.
Second Doctor
You kept seeing him falling out the Tardis. The haunting way, he shouted your name before falling into space. Ramón wasn't the perfect person, but you were together for many years, and the acceptance just didn't come overnight. You walked into the console room, surprised to see the Doctor working on the Tardis.
"What are you doing?" You asked, shocking him, but his eyes softened when he saw you.
"I'm making adjustments to the circuit." He said.
"What will it do?" You walked over, and he closed the panel, standing up to face you.
"I'd prefer to talk about why you're not asleep." He placed his arms around you when you wrapped your arms around his waist. "You're still having nightmares."
"It's silly, and I know he wasn't a good man but -" You sighed into his shoulder, closing your eyes when he pressed a soothing kiss on your forehead. "I hate him, but a part of me is still sad that he's gone. He is floating somewhere out there."
He nodded in understanding, "It's not silly at all. It's perfectly natural." He told you. "But this is the second night this week, and you must get some rest."
"Will you join me?" You asked.
"Of course. I'll program the Tardis first; then, I'll join you." He smiled softly, and you ran your hand along his arm as you stepped away, feeling him squeeze your hand, watching you walk out.
The Doctor turned to the console, making the necessary adjustments before following you to the bedroom.
Having a face that resembled your former husband that you had watched fall into space, wasn't easy. But somehow his presence was easing your pain, instead of making it worse.
Third Doctor
The Master killed him. One of his nemesis plans had finally succeeded, and you could only watch as the Doctor was defeated. And when you woke up from your nightmare, you still weren't convinced. So you went to UNIT and entered the lab, seeing the Tardis where he had left it.
You knocked on the Tardis, and moments later, it opened for you. The Doctor smiled at you before frowning at the way you looked at him.
"You look like you've seen a ghost." He chuckled.
You approached him, staring intently before hugging him as tight as you could. He wrapped his arms around you and patted your back.
"Okay, you're strangling me now."
You loosened your grip but didn't release him completely.
"What's the matter?"
You shook your head, "Nothing." Your smile was small and wasn't as reassuring as you intended for it to be. You placed your head on his chest, and tears fell from your eyes at the sound of his two heartbeats.
He was alive. And it had all been one incredibly realistic and detailed nightmare.
Fourth Doctor
It had been weeks since you had encountered Styre. The Doctor had patiently waited for the day you finally let yourself be affected by the experiments performed on you, the mind tricks that haunted your nightmares.
Harry was the first to hear your screams, and Sarah was the one who got the Doctor. You weren't responding when they tried to wake you up. He walked in and ushered them out before approaching the bed. You were flinching every few seconds, muttering incoherently.
The Doctor tried to wake you, shaking you before realizing you were completely lost in your nightmare and put two fingers on both sides of your head, entering your mind. You breathed heavily as you snapped out your nightmare, and you were shaking violently, sobbing into your hands.
"Just breathe. Don't forget to breathe." He sent you a sad smile while wrapping his arms around your trembling figure. You weren't sure how long it took, minutes, or hours but he stayed with you until you calmed down, falling asleep on his chest.
And when Sarah went searching for him in the morning, she found you both fast asleep, curled together, his arm around you protectively.
Fifth Doctor
There was one thing you feared, and it was Daleks. Your confidence became your safety net. You could pretend that you weren't afraid, but the Doctor paid close attention to you, waiting for the cracks to appear.
You were wary about him, unsure of what you could do and what you couldn't. But when his arms were as welcoming as those in your own time, you cried on his chest, and it was the most serious moment you had shared since you arrived.
Sixth Doctor
You walked out of your bedroom, finding Peri heading down the corridor. "What is he doing?" She complained, yawning tiredly.
"I don't know. Go back to bed. I'll deal with it." You told her, heading to the source of the noise.
The Doctor had pulled the console apart, fixing wires that didn't need fixing. You sighed, crossing your arms.
"What the hell are you doing?"
He looked at you, and you frowned at the tiredness in his eyes. "I have to fix it."
"I don't think she agrees with you." You nodded to the console, earning a loud hum of what you assumed was agreement.
"Yes, well, she is rather temperamental." The panel he was working on sparked, and he hissed, sucking his finger. "Besides, your trip to Brazil has caused glitching."
"Hey, she took over this flight, I couldn't help it. And you've landed in the wrong place before." You reminded him.
You walked over to him and touched his shoulder. "You need to sleep."
"Sleep? Sleep? At a time like this?" You pulled him away from the Tardis console, and when he tried to break free, you bit his hand. He was yelling for the entire walk to his bedroom, where you struggled to get him to lie down. You lay beside him and placed his head on your chest.
"Are you going to pull my hair again?"
"Considering you woke me up in the middle of the night, I am tempted. But no." You looked down at him with a smile, and he watched you curiously. "What?"
"That's the nicest thing you've said to me since I regenerated."
You would've laughed if you didn't realize he was right. "Don't get used to it."
He stared across the room, and you felt his body relax as you played with his hair, falling asleep.
Peri found you in the morning, the Doctor sleeping peacefully with his arms around your waist, your chest as his pillow.
Seventh Doctor
You weren't on friendly terms yet. You treated Ace as a sister, and he knew that it would take more than the universe to get you to forgive him.
You still had nightmares of the Iceworld. It had been three months, but you couldn't get a decent night's sleep.
He knew you liked music, so he got the Tardis to place a stereo in your room, and you could sleep to the sounds coming from the radio. And in the morning, you gave him your first smile since the Iceworld, and it made him believe that he was worth forgiving.
Eighth Doctor
When the excitement of a recent adventure didn't wear off, you would find him in the console room, searching for your next adventure. You would pull him back to bed, and he would talk about where he could take you. You would fall asleep first, and he wouldn't move in fear of waking you, and eventually, he would fall asleep.
War Doctor
You wandered the hallways of the Tardis when you couldn't sleep. You were staring into the milky way when the Doctor found you. He sat beside you, holding out a cup of tea.
"Couldn't sleep?"
You shook your head, thanking him for the tea. You were all he had left and he was all you had. Your families; your planet was gone.
"I keep seeing it every time I close my eyes."
"I know." He said softly, placing his arm around you, and you rested your head on his shoulder.
Ninth Doctor
The Time War was fresh in his mind, and the Tardis chose you, a companion that she believed understood the Doctor the most. The lights in your room would flicker and wake you up. She would light the way, leading you to where the Doctor was sitting, thinking about the destruction of Gallifrey.
When his teary eyes met with yours, you knew why the Tardis led you to him. You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his neck, and he buried his head in your shoulder.
You would stand there for an hour, maybe more before you could convince him to sleep.
Tenth Doctor
You had traveled on the Tardis for some time, and finding the Doctor in the console room, holding Rose's jacket, was not what you expected in the middle of the night. You were sure your presence would add to his heartache, but you had to do something. You stepped out of the shadows, and he looked at you, broken beyond repair.
"What am I going to do?"
His words made tears form in your eyes, and you stepped forward to hug him, and he held you tightly, closing his eyes to fight his tears, but you could feel some escaping down your neck.
Neither of you got any sleep that night. But you did believe that in time, maybe he could find closure, and his mind wouldn't be so loud and allow him to rest. So you stayed up with him for as long as you could. The Doctor took you to your bedroom and made sure you were comfortable.
He stopped at the doorway, looking back at your sleeping form. You were a reminder that he wasn't alone. And it was a message he needed to hear.
Eleventh Doctor
The wheezing of the Tardis relaxed you. You were fond of the sound, even if it proved the Doctor left the brakes on. You followed the sound to the console room, finding the Doctor working underneath. He called up to you, looking up at you through the glass. You took a seat on the chair, wrapping your blanket over you.
"Nightmares?" He asked knowingly.
You had traveled with him for a while, and in the beginning, he was always shocked to walk in and find you sleeping near the console. Then he learned the reason why he was sympathetic and upgraded the chair so you would be more comfortable.
He came over to sit beside you, and you smiled, curling up into his side, legs over his and his arm around your neck, hand playing with your hair as you laid your head on his shoulder.
"Good night, Y/N." He kissed your forehead with a smile.
Twelfth Doctor
He was freshly regenerated and had a lot of energy pumping through him. But you knew he needed to sleep for the remainder of the process.
"Did you have a bedroom?" He asked.
You smiled, hands under your cheek as you stared at him. "Yeah. I had two actually. One for me and another for, well, anyone who needed it really."
He went quiet, but you knew he would think of something else to say.
He did ask more questions, turning his head when you didn't answer. He was tempted to wake you up but decided against it. He smiled faintly, pulling the sheets up to your shoulder.
He laid beside you on the bed, and you were the last thing he saw as he let sleep wash over him.
Thirteenth Doctor
The Master got inside your head. And as much as she tried to help, the Doctor couldn't fix the damage. You stayed up three nights in a row, and she hated that the only thing she could do was talk about it. But this incarnation was socially awkward, and you didn't want to make it worse. You needed the warmth of Eleven and the humor of Nine to get you through it. So she took you on a trip to see them both. Eleven then, Nine. And when you returned, you were smiling brighter than you had before.
Fourteenth Doctor
You turned when his arms left their commonplace around you and frowned when you saw his hands on his head, his eyes closed tightly. You learned after every bad adventure, and you still hadn't unboxed everything he had gone through since the Doctor returned, a little older, and a little more likely to open up about his pain. You placed a gentle hand on his chest, and he froze, hands lowering to meet your gaze.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
He sighed, shaking his head.
You nod, accepting his answer. "Okay." His arms encircle you as you rest your head on his chest and he pressed a kiss to your head, closing his eyes as he lingered. He had a second chance with you, and this time he could heal from the trauma he had endured. But right now, it was 1.30 am and you needed to sleep before heading to work in a few hours. So, he put the memory to the back of his mind and settled comfortably, feeling grateful that you were in his arms again after so long.
Delgado!Master
"You need to sleep."
He turned to find you rubbing your eyes, a fond smile on his lips. You approached him and pulled him away from the plan he was creating that would annoy the Doctor, no doubt.
You took him to his room, and the Master sighed, holding his hands up when you waited expectantly. He laid down, and you tucked him in.
"If I find you are wandering around again, I will lock the door."
You yawned and didn't complain when he brought you beside him. "I assume that you are taking care of me until the Doctor manages to get you back."
"You get into too much trouble, and you'll end up dead if you aren't at your best." You mumbled, falling asleep on his chest.
It was the closest thing to you confessing that you cared. And it would be a while before he received a confession he wanted to hear.
Ainley!Master
You had run for at least twenty miles without stopping. You were exhausted, the adrenaline had settled, but you still couldn't sleep. It had been too close a call this time.
The Tardis light up the hallway, and he followed the lights to your room. He heard the music blaring inside and opened the door, finding you sitting with your head on your knees on the bed.
"I thought you would be sleeping by now..."
"I was, but...doesn't matter." You looked at him, "Why are you awake?"
"The monitor was glitching." He said. "You can join me if you like?"
You nodded and took his outstretched hand, walking to the console room. You were fighting your sleep, and the Master knew you wouldn't open up to him. You held tools for him, and when you finished helping hours later, he could see you were losing the fight. He picked you up and carried you to your bedroom, falling asleep in his arms. He placed you down gently, and when you wouldn't unwrap your arms from his neck, he laid down, and you cuddled into him.
After that night, your relationship changed.
Roberts!Master
You shivered, turning on your side as you struggled to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in. The door opened, and you looked at the Master who glared at you.
"I'm trying to work!"
"Sorry." You sighed, sitting up. "I can't sleep. I usually fall asleep on -" you laid down, fluffing your pillow. "I won't bother you again."
He observed you for a moment and weighed the options in his mind. Keep you awake, and you'll be less helpful to him, or help you sleep, and he can continue to work.
He laid down, and you turned around, seeing his green eyes shining in the darkness. He waited for you to initiate contact, placing your head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, and you closed your eyes. You fought back the tears, hoping that your husband would survive.
You fell asleep minutes later, the Master unable to leave due to your grip. He was tempted to push you away, but when you whimpered, he stopped trying.
All he wanted to do was ensure you had a good sleep so you could continue to help him with his plans. Yeah, he didn't entirely convince himself either.
Jacobi!Master
He was always getting headaches. You knew he had trouble sleeping and would know when he was awake. He would be working throughout the night, and you would sit with him. You would fall asleep with your head on your arms, and he would wake you when he noticed you were sleeping in an uncomfortable position and take you to bed. He would find that the drums were silenced, if only for a little while, and he could get a few hours sleep.
Simms!Master
You believed he was dead. So when he turned up on your doorstep wearing a black hoodie, you were surprised, freaked out, but thrilled.
He was alone for a long time, so you expected him to behave out of the ordinary. But the way he stared, lost in his mind frightened you.
You woke up, finding him sitting beside you on the bed, hands on his stomach as he stared at the wall. You slowly put a hand on his chest, getting his attention. His eyes softened as you touched his cheek, closing briefly before opening again.
"Did I wake you?" He asked.
You shook your head, "No. What's wrong?"
"Nothing." He kissed your forehead. "Go back to sleep."
You moved closer, resting your head on his chest, and he wrapped his arms around you.
You began to sing quietly, and he smiled down at you, a hint of sadness to it. He had missed you more than you'd ever know, more than he would tell you, and he was finding it challenging to sleep out of fear of what he would see when his eyes were closed.
But he had a weakness for your singing. It would help him relax when he had a stressful day, and eventually, he could no longer fight his sleep, head leaning against yours. You smiled and closed your eyes, hoping that he would find peace in his dreams.
Missy
She didn't want to be alone. Meeting you again, finding you had been traveling with the Doctor who had changed you, made you better, in your opinion, was a blessing. You weren't much different. You saw the beauty in the universe and weren't plotting against the Doctor. But you were happy, happier now she had returned.
She didn't want to take her eyes off of you, afraid when she blinked you would disappear.
You opened your eyes and frowned at the faraway look in her eyes. "What's wrong?"
"I was just thinking." She attempted to smile, but it didn't reach her eyes.
"I know you're afraid I've changed completely. I just don't want to hurt people like we used to. And I still care about you."
"You won't leave me then?" She tried to smirk, but you could see the insecurity in her eyes.
"No. Never." You kissed her tenderly. "Get some sleep I'll be here when you wake up."
You wrapped your arms around her, and she turned, cuddling into you. You smiled as you kissed her head. You looked down at her to find she was asleep, and only then did you fall asleep.
Dhawan!Master
He was stranded for seventy-seven years. Add that to the secrets of Gallifrey, the tales of the Timeless Children; it was safe to say he had a lot to deal with emotionally. You would find him in the console room, working on his next idea to get rid of the Doctor, and he would see your sleepy figure, and when you opened your arms, he would do all he could not to cry. You were heaven sent, and the one person he trusted, who was loyal and didn't let him down. For seventy-seven years, he was desperate to return to you, wondering if he would find you had suffered at the hands of the Doctor.
You would hold him as he inevitably broke down and whispered soothing words in his ear. He fell asleep while you played with his hair. He didn't know how he had become so reliant on you, but he knew that he couldn't live without you.
Jamie McCrimmon
You missed home. The Tardis was fascinating, but you missed the fields, the horses, and your family. The Tardis had given you the same bedroom, and the Doctor believed she had done so to bring you both closer. Jamie was thrilled to be marrying you, but you weren't fond of arranged marriages and were hesitant about him. But the shared room had brought you both closer in some ways; you would greet each other in the morning and have breakfast together. If one of his shirts were torn during an adventure, you would stitch it for him.
The moment you truly believed your marriage had a future was when you couldn't fall asleep. Jamie had woken up due to your moving around, and when you opened up to him, he considered it a defining moment in your relationship. He told you stories of his childhood and gave detail of the hills that eased your homesickness as you reminiscence with him.
You fell asleep on his shoulder, and he smiled, tucking you in before falling asleep beside you.
Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart
In his line of work, there was a lot that could go wrong. And you were sure you had nightmares about every possible scenario. You knew what happened daily, and the aliens he had fought against gave you more to fear.
He returned home at odd times. You didn't want to trouble him with something you considered silly.
But when he returned home one night to find you trembling and crying in your sleep, he thought it was anything but 'silly.'
He took your mind off of it by talking about other things. You calmed down and eventually fell asleep in his arms. And he made sure to call during the day, come home when he said he would, anything to ease your worries to keep the nightmares away.
Mike Yates
You had always considered Mike invincible. So when his mind was taken over, the fear began to sink in. He was as mortal as everyone else (well, excluding the Doctor). And it frightened you, plaguing your dreams at night. He was fast asleep beside you, and you shook him awake. When he saw the tears in your eyes, he held you until you calmed down and you fell asleep to the sound of his beating heart.
Alydon
The war with the Daleks raged on in many Thralls minds. As a front line warrior you had seen more than most and while Alydon had led the Thralls during the war he hadn't seen the horrors you had. And when you are woken by a nightmare he feels helpless as all he can do is hold you. But that's exactly what you needed, to know that he was there and he was safe.
Rory Williams
He didn't like to mention it but he had nightmares of the battles he had participated in as a Roman. It was like you sensed he needed someone to talk to as you would be waiting in the kitchen with a drink that would soothe him back to sleep.
Ian Chesterton
You had nightmares about your almost execution. One second you were asleep and the next you were staring down the blade of a gulliotine. Ian had been separated from the women and you were doing your best to comfort Susan, but you couldn't hide your own fear. Ian found you in the library, unable to sleep, and he had seen the light through the gap in the door on his way to the kitchen kitchen make tea. He found you reading and from the tears on your cheeks, you weren't managing to find a distraction.
It was plain for Susan and Barbara to see that he cared about you differently. Long before you had stepped on the Tardis, the life threatening situations bringing you closer.
"Nightmares?" He asked knowingly, joining you on the sofa.
"I know it's silly but I can't shake it." You confessed, wiping tears from your cheeks.
"Its not silly at all. The past few weeks have been rather exciting. Today was a little too close for comfort, I agree." He took your hand with a small smile, and you met his gaze. "But we survived."
You wrapped your arms around his neck and he rubbed your back soothingly. "I was so frightened." You weren't only afraid for yourself, but for the man you had fallen for. For Susan who had so much life left to live. For Barbara who had become a close friend. For the Doctor who despite kidnapping you all was someone you cared for.
He held you tighter, thinking of his time in the cell, not knowing if you were executed. "Me too."

Kidnapped: Third doctor x F!reader
Warnings : angst, almost death and electric shock nothing mature or explicit
Paring : third doctor x F!reader (timelady/emortal being)
Words : 2103
This is based on a dream i had a few days ago i know i have weird dreams.
Please ignore any spelling mistakes i tried my best thank you 😊
Tumblr media
The doctor was bussy with something he was tinkering at his working bench, y/n came in with the tea tray and set it on his desk "morning doctor" said y/n she gave the doctor a kiss on his forehead, the doctor smiled "morning dear any news?". "No not really, the past few weeks nothig happend no monsters or aliens no sign of the master nothig" y/n sighs and sat down on the sofa in the doctors lab. "Im starting to get bored otherwise i would go out shopping with jo but she's on vacantion" she said while laying down. The doctor turned to her "What about the brigadier, yates or benton?". "The brigadier is away on a meeting, mike and benton are away for a military training" she piked up some papers that wer laying on the table that was standing next to the sofa, there were drawings of the TARDIS interior and wiring on the papers. "What are you trying to do with the TARDIS doctor?". "Just some repairs to the wiring dear a few buttons of the console broke as wel so im trying to fix them" the doctor awnserd. "Im in my room if you need me doctor" y/n said while walking in the TARDIS.
Y/n and the doctor are in a relationship, some times people mistake them for grandfather and granddaughter. But what do you expect y/n looks so much younger than the doctor she isn't human she's (preferd race, time lady, imortal being etc.) And they are very mutch in love with echoter.
Y/n walked up to the bookcase that was in her room and grabed (favorite book) she sat down on her bed and started to read. About an hour later y/n could not keep her eyes open, she rubbed them to try and get the sleep out but it did not work, she stifled a yawn And stood up to walk to the bookcase to put the book back, she put the book back and turned around she fell to the floor y/n tried to get up and stay awak but it did not work she fell asleep on the floor.
While they havent heared from the master the past weeks he was prepering to take over the universe and he needed y/n her help with that. The master was behind her sleepyness the last time the master met the doctor and y/n he instaled secret sleeping gas devices in her bedroom, you could not see them because they wer hidden in objects. The master used the scaners of his TARDIS to indicate if y/n had fallen asleep because of the gas, she had indeed fallen asleep the master parked his TARDIS in y/n her room. to blend in with her room the TARDIS transformed in a closet. He walked up to y/n unconscious body and piked her up. He walked back in to the TARDIS again he put y/n in a capsule it was designed to hold people in them and drain their energy. The master knew what kind of powers y/n holds she's a strong women and with those powers he would take over the universe the master sent his TARDIS in flight again. The doctor din't know what was going on at the moment but y/n had been away for 4 hours and he thought it was strange the doctor stood up and went to y/n her bedroom he knoked on the door "y/n are you in there?" He opend the door to see an emty bedroom no y/n. "Y/n were are you? Y/n?" The doctor looked in the library the kitchen the wadarobe the pool but she was nowhere to be found "would you mind helping me out old girl?" Asked the doctor to the TARDIS. the TARDIS humed in responds, he now got the feeling something isn't right y/n could not go anywere without passing him in his lab, he went to the scaners to see if something hapend the past few hours, the results came back and the scans indicated that there had landed an other TARDIS inside his, the doctor knew now that the master took her away. he sent his TARDIS in flight to look for the master.
Y/n started to wake up she blinkend rapidly "ah it seems you finaly woke up how was the nap miss y/l/n?" The master said with his hands behind his back "What? Master what have you done?! let me out of here!" Y/n banged on the glass of the capsule. "No i wil not let you out miss y/l/n you see im going to use you to take over the universe" the master said while pacing around still with his arms behind his back "I know what kind of powers you hold my dear" he said as he turned around to look at her "not even the doctor can save you now, see this little remote everytime i press the button you will get a shock and when you get a shock your body lets go of some energy, wich this capsule collects and stores for later use, now lets see if it Works" the master pressed the button and the machine sent off a shock to y/n's body. Y/n screamed and had tears in her eyes, y/n knew that if the master would keep doing this there could be a possibility that she could die.
The doctor was pacing around he had his hands in his hair, he was sacared for y/n her safety, he needs help he knew that the brigadier, yates and benton arn't at unit but this is an emergency he used the TARDIS to comunicate with the three men "Greyhound One and Greyhound Three do you read me this is the doctor speaking". "The brigadier was reading some important papers when he heard the doctor coming trough his walkie talkie"Greyhound One and Greyhound Three do you read me this is the doctor speaking" he piked up his walkie talkie "this is  Greyhound One what is the problem doctor? over". "Y/n has been taken by the master and im scared for her safety" yates and benton were taking a break, yates heared the walkie talkie going over and the brigadier talking to the doctor "this is Greyhound Three and benton over". "I really need you guys help i will come and pick you three up with the TARDIS" , "alright we see you then doctor grayhound one and grayhound Three out".
Y/n lay on the ground tears steamt down her face she had been shocked multiple times she could not stand up y/n was to tired she felt drained. the Master wasnt there lucky enough he had left the room but she knew that he was stil in the TARDIS. "Please doctor don't let me die" she wispered while letting the tears fall. The doctor landed his TARDIS to pick the three men up. "Alright doctor tell us what happend?" Asked the brigadier. "Wel i was reparing the TARDIS and went to check up on y/n because i had not heard anything from her the past 4 hours, when i went in to her bedroom she wasn't there i checked everywhere but i could not find her, i did a scan to see if anything showed up But nothig the only thing that i know is that an other TARDIS had landed in her bedroom, there is no other possibility that it was someone else than the Master". "And what can we do?"asked benton. "I need you guys help just in case if something happends" said the doctor while walking around the console and flipping switches to sent the TARDIS to the right destination. Meanwhile The master walked back into the room where he hold y/n "Are you awake miss y/l/n?" he said with an evil grin on his face. Y/n was just laying there on the ground of the capsule staring at nothing, her tears had dried and her eyes wer red from crying "what do you want?" she asked hoars from the crying and screaming. "I just wanted to check if you are still alive Because i still need a little bit more of your energy to make everything comeplete" the master said still with that evil look on his face. "You enjoy this don't you?". "Oh yes i enjoy this very mutch but like i said i stil need your help one last time" the master pressed the button, y/n cried out in pain again she knew that her life was hanging on a thin thread now, it was life or death but she din't want the doctor to get hurt or anyone els in that case. "I have the feeling something is verry wrong with y/n" said the doctor, "how are you so sure doctor?" Asked mike. "Wel you see captain me and y/n have a telapathic bond i know when something is wrong with her" anwserd the doctor. "Do you want us to take our weapons with us if we are going to raid the master's TARDIS?". "Yes brigadier take the weapons with you because we don't know what the master has in store for us" awnserd the doctor back.
The doctor had landed his TARDIS out side the masters in the middel of a green feeld the doctor, the brigadier, benton and yates walked out the TARDIS up to the masters he also came outside. "I want you to give y/n back to me" said the doctor angrily. "Oh doctor you are to late your precious y/n is dead" laught the master, "you are lying" said benton mike and the brigadier were furious as wel. "Im not lying dear sergeant i took all her energie away she's dead". The doctor din't want to lissen anymore he atack the master they were both strugeling the brigadier, benton and yates had their weapons ready Lucky enough the doctor was able to knok the master out for some time. Mike Dodds x f!reader Marks the “Date Gone Wrong” square on thatesqcrush ‘s Vday Bingo! Warnings: Fluff. Mentions of smut. Language.
Chicago P.D’s Intelligence Unit had begun working alongside Manhattan’s SVU nearly a year ago, while you had stayed behind the first trip, once Greg Yates had kidnapped Nadia you were on the next plane out with Erin and Jay. It was on that trip that you met their Sergeant Mike Dodds, and honestly, you were both pretty smitten instantly. You found yourselves partnered up throughout the investigation, and you not only worked together seamlessly but got along splendidly (and flirted mercilessly). Olivia half joked that she had an open spot on the team, but the instant Hank shot her daggers she knew you weren’t about to leave Intelligence.
As things would have it, your branch of Intelligence had you working along other ops in other cities pretty regularly, some of them undercover, and some just specializing within other squads. It just so happened that you weren’t returning to Chicago with your team, but rather staying in New York for another at least month for work.
You obviously brought this up to Mike and you were quick to agree that for the time being, why not have some fun? See where things went and cross the detail bridge when you came to it. Your relationship started out wonderfully, Mike woo’d you with the most romantic dates while taking you to see the sights of the city. He was sweet, devoting, caring and incredibly attractive, and most importantly, he loved you. It was on an evening date, miraculously neither of you were called into work, you were strolling across the Brooklyn Bridge arm in arm, Mike paused to wrap his arms around you while you watched the river for a moment. He ducked his head kissing your shoulder softly before he made his admission, you spun in his arms with a wild smile on your face, kissing him while murmuring a soft ‘I love you too’ against his lips.
It only took a day after that for you to end up at his Father’s Brownstone for dinner, meeting the rest of the Dodd’s clan. William took a shining to you nearly as fast as Mike had, mentioning that he’d heard nothing but good things about you from Olivia, and that he admired the work your unit did. There was a little lecture about making sure you obeyed the rules and stayed safe since Intelligence was…intense…to say the least, but nonetheless it was a perfect evening followed by an even more perfect night with Mike.
Coming up to the end of your operation you talked things through, you knew long distance could be a bitch, but you were willing to put up with it because you were fucking madly in love with each other. Your squads already worked together here and there on multiple cases, your career kept you travelling all around the States, and Mike had the seniority needed to take time off to come to Chicago. You settled the major holidays right away, Mike would fly to Chicago for the 4th of July (there was special celebrations he wanted to check out), you’d join him and the family in New York for Christmas through New Years, he’d fly out to you for your birthday, and you’d fly back to him for your anniversary the next year. It seemed simpler on paper than it would be, that was for sure, but you knew you could make it work.
It helped that Mike was only an hour ahead of you time zone wise, you knew that when you called him after dinner, chances were he was home and able to talk. You kept in touch through face times and phone calls, there was more than one occasion when a late night phone call turned racy, and you weren’t complaining about that.
February rolled around and while Valentines Day didn’t really matter to you, and you’d seen Mike less than a month ago, you were about to go into an undercover op and wanted to get a chance to see him before you went dark. You mentioned the holiday in one of your phone calls and he said that it was good you were in Chicago since he was stuck working. Olivia wanted to spend the day with Noah, Amanda and Carisi had finally hooked up and Amaro’s wife was back in town. It was a boys club of him and Fin holding down the fort. You pretended to be sad about it, but booked your plane ticket, a nice little surprise trip to the coast would be good for both of you.
*
You knew your way around New York, and were more than welcomed at the 16th precinct, easily making your way into the elevator. You’d decided on a pink cocktail dress, a nice pair of heels and loose hair. A small gift bag had Mike’s favourite treats from Chicago in it, and you had the plan to order his favourite take out for dinner to share. It was late enough that the place was basically deserted, you figured Fin was in the bunk room, and you knew Mike often worked from Olivia’s office when he was acting commander.
“Surprise…” you smiled, knocking on the door lightly as you pushed it open. You stumbled suddenly as you froze, “Lieutenant..?”  She glanced up, she was half doing paperwork half occupying a baby who you assumed was Noah.
“Y/N, what’re you doing here?”
“I-uh…Mike…said he was covering for you tonight. I flew out to surprise him for Valentines Day.” A sense of nervousness began to rattle through your chest, “is he out in the field?”
“He asked for the weekend off.” She replied.
“I-what?” Your voice suddenly shook, you knew long distance came with struggles, but the thought of Mike out with another woman on Valentines Day nonetheless rattled you to your core. You never thought he was the type, “why would he lie to me about it?” Olivia could see the worry on your face, a small shimmer of tears making their way into your eyes.
“Honey! No…no no, trust me it’s not what you think.”
“Huh?” You’d been so caught up in your thoughts you half forgot where you were.
“Call him.” Olivia smiled, turning her attention back to Noah when you pulled your phone out. It only took a few rings before Mike picked up, you could nearly hear the smile in his voice.
“Hey sweetheart.”
“Hey…how’s work?” You half glanced in Liv’s direction.
“Dreadful.” He replied and your brows furrowed, “I’m trapped in a monster pile of paperwork Lieu left for me. I’d much rather be having dinner with you.”
“Really?” You cocked a brow despite him not being able to see you, “cause I happen to be standing in your Lieutenant’s office and unless you’ve transformed into a baby version of yourself you’re nowhere to be seen.” Olivia laughed at your half stab of a joke.
“What? You’re…in New York?”
“Yeah.” You huffed, “where are you?” Mike let out a heavy sigh as he ran his hand over his face.
“In a cab that just left O’hare.”
“You’re in Chicago?!”
“Yeah sweetheart.” He chuckled lightly, “I wanted to come surprise you before you do that UC op, figured Valentines Day made the most sense.”
“Talk about a failed date.” You laughed.
“Can’t say we both didn’t try.” He smiled, his words pulling a soft smile from you, you could hear him talking to the cabbie briefly.
“Why don’t you head to my apartment, make yourself at home? I’ll try to catch a flight that’ll get me home before midnight.”
“You sure? I could come to you?”
“No!” He half laughed, “don’t go anywhere near an airport, we don’t need this mix-up happening again.”
“Okay.” You smiled, “I’ll keep the couch warm for ya.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Hanging up the phone you turned back to Benson with a somewhat sheepish grin on your face.
“That man loves you more than you could ever imagine.” She smiled.
“I got a very lucky catch.” You sighed softly, “I will get out of your hair, sorry for the intrusion.”
“Don’t worry about it.” She smiled, giving you a small wave as you left the office.
*
As Mike had suggested, you made yourself right at home, curling up on the couch in a pair of leggings and one of his very oversized NYPD sweatshirts. You were incredibly happy that it was only a few hours later when you heard his key in the lock, bounding toward the door as he entered.
“Hi baby!” He laughed at the way you jumped onto him, wrapping yourself around him. He half carried you into the apartment, kicking the door shut behind him as you peppered his face with kisses. Once he set you down he cupped your cheek with his free hand.
“Hey sweetheart.” His lips met yours softly and you melted into him at the warmth. “Got you somethin’ on the way home.” He lifted up the bouquet of roses.
“Mikey…you didn’t have to.”
“Mm, but I wanted to.” He kissed the side of your head gently, “happy Valentines Day.”
“Thank you.” You pecked him quickly, returning the sentiment while you moved to put the flowers in some water. “The bag on the island is for you.” He picked through it, giving you a kiss of thank you as you buried yourself in his arms.
“Did you eat?”
“I raided your snack cupboard, but I wanted to wait for you.”
“How do you feel about La Vela?”
“Mmm! Yes! That was the best cannelloni I’ve ever had.” Mike chuckled, keeping an arm wrapped around you while the other one picked up his phone to make the order. He smiled at the warmth of you in his embrace again, it may have only been a month and a half, but in the middle of winter, he missed you next to him. He dropped a kiss onto the top of your head as he finished the call, smiling down at you.
“NYPD looks good on you.” He teased, commenting on the stolen sweater.
“O-ho..” you chuckled, “don’t get any ideas. You know I like my big guns and special ops.”
“I’m not suggesting you leave Intelligence sweetheart, I’m just sayin’.”  You popped up on your toes to kiss him quickly,
“I know.”
You indulged in some fancy red wine while you waited for dinner, fully enjoying the spread that Mike had ordered for you. You curled up in his lap on the couch afterwards, resting your head against his shoulder while you watched a few specials on t.v. Turning your head you laid a kiss on his neck, remembering something he’d said over dinner.
“You said that transfer got approved?”
“Yeah.” He kissed your hair.
“Anti terroism task force like your Dad wanted?”
“No..homicide.”
“Boring.” You teased, “still in Manhattan?”
“Chicago actually.” He said it so casually you almost misssed it, suddenly scrambling in his lap so spastic you almost kneed yourself in the face.
“What?!” This time when he turned to you he had a near shit eating grin on his face.
“That’s why I wanted to come surprise you, I wanted to tell you in person.”
“You’re moving to Chicago?” Your eyes filled with happy tears this time.
“Yeah.” He kissed you gently, “it’ll be a big change, but if it means I get to be with you full time, it’s more than worth it.”
“Mike….have I told you how much I love you?”
“I love you more sweetheart.” Gently caressing your face he kissed you again, the adoration flowing from him straight to the pit of your heart.
“No more long distance?” You murmured.
“No more long distance.” He smiled, happily meeting your lips for another kiss, he had to make up for lost time after all.

The doors to the base opened with a mechanical grind and heave, the escorting guards that flanked your side guiding you towards the entrance of the UNIT embassy in London. You turned over your shoulder, heels stood upon the precipice of the entryway, leather gloved hand pulling your circular sunglasses down your nose. You met the gaze of the Brigadier, Doctor and Jo- your eyes lined with a dark kohl and red lips quirking up into a smirk.
"Will we be seeing you again, officer?" Jo asked, her voice sweet as she shoved her hands into the pockets of her blazer. You nodded with a fond smile, turning on your heels to face them as you pushed your glasses back up your nose, brushing the blonde hairs of your wig behind your ear.
"Perhaps, Miss Grant. However it depends on how the operators here at UNIT manage to handle the situation."
The Brigadier gave his typical expression. It was a raised lip corner, signalled mostly by the movement of his moustache. The various officers at UNIT, most recently Sergeant Benton, referred to it as the Brigadiers ‘not-smile smile’: he was a professional, after all. Hiding his displeasure at his authority being questioned behind a display of decorum.
"Believe me, officer, my men are working to the highest level of capacity. This peace conference shall go off without a hitch."
"Good, I'm glad to hear it. You do your Job, Brigadier, and the professor and I shall do ours."
You smiled at the Brigadier, who returned with the legendary expression once more, before turning to face the Doctor. His eyes were narrowed as he inspected your face, head slightly tilted as the ends of his wild white hair and long cape coat were beginning to be caught in the invading draft. You brushed down the front of your black blazer dress, buttons shining as you adjusted your hat with a gentle push.
"Until then, Doctor."
The Time Lord hummed, hardly an answer, watching as you swiftly turned on the heel of your stilettos and headed out of the door. The Brigadier gave a sigh as the eyes of his soldiers followed you out, letting out an abrupt cough that broke the men's gazes from the length of your dress.
“I’m guessing I should consider making that uniform mandatory for you too, since you’re so interested in its design.”
The men quickly resumed whatever work they’d been momentarily distracted from. The Brigadier turned towards his scientific officer with a further movement of his facial hair.
"Honestly, it's as if they've never seen a lady in uniform before."
Jo frowned, shaking her head before turning to the Doctor. He was still following after you, eyes narrow as you clutched your briefcase and elegantly slid into the waiting military vehicle down the steps. Jo sighed loudly as you went.
"Oh Doctor, not you too!"
"That woman seemed familiar. Far too familiar for a stranger, Far too familiar for a supposed visitor from Switzerland, anyway."
Jo rolled her eyes and smiled fondly up at the larger man.
"Doctor, I'm sure you've met many soldiers in your lifetime. Maybe you’re just misremembering?"
"Quite the contrary, Jo. I never forget a face. And my gut is telling me that face will be nothing but trouble."
The Brigadier shook his head, giving a light chuckle as he patted the Doctor on the back.
"Come along now, Doctor. She seemed like a professional young girl. You're more than likely worrying over nothing. That apprehension in your stomach can't be anything more than the result of you skipping breakfast."
The Doctor sighed, Jo taking it as a triumphant sign of his relenting.
"Speaking of food, I'm positively famished. Mike said he’d order some sandwiches from that nice little café around the corner earlier. Coming, Brigadier?"
The Brigadier rolled his eyes.
“I suppose it would be delectable of me to keep captain Yates from his obviously rigid lunch schedule.”
The humans parted, discussing such trivial things as food. But the Doctor knew something was definitely wrong. He'd seen your face before, the memory scratching at his brain. All these pieces were beginning to look like disjointed parts of a puzzle: this Keller machine, the peace conference, and now his strange sense of familiarity. He just needed to find out what was going on, and quickly- before his suspicion came far too late to prevent.
You met his eyes one last time as the vehicle door slammed shut, his curious expression suddenly being hidden by a veil of window tint as the engine revved and began to pull out onto the busy road.
By the time the military car had reached its drop off point, late afternoon clouds had begun to fall over london. You thanked the driver, standing under the early light of the street lamp as you watched the vehicle escape down the road and turn the corner back towards UNIT headquarters. You smirked, turning on your heels once more before heading down the street in the ever growing black of the soon to be evening.
A small skip entered your step as you made your way past the row of houses, a giggle escaping your lips. How your Master's plan was coming together wonderfully, your heart practically racing at the thought of his next attempt at world domination. You could see it now, yourself and the Master stood side by side, watching the destruction of earth as he whispered in your ear how good of a girl you were. It was simply dreamy to imagine: and now professor Emil Keller was about to make it happen.
You reached the end of the street, excitement brimming in your stomach as you caught sight of the large, sleek black car and the glassy eyed driver in the front seat. The man nodded at your presence, turning over his shoulder and speaking to the passenger in the back seat. The tinted window to the rear passenger side door cracked open slightly, cigar smoke billowing out into the night. He hopped out of the driving seat and pulled open the door swiftly as you arrived at the side of the car, the cigar quickly discarded out the window as a familiar voice sent comforting shivers down your spine.
"Come inside, my dear- it's frightfully chilly out there at this hour."
You giggled happily at the Master, sliding into the leather interior of the car and placing yourself firmly into his side. He grasped your chin softly, guiding your face to meet his as you dissolved into a tender, welcoming kiss. You pulled your glasses from your face, discarding them to the side as you buried yourself in the waiting arms of the Master. His coat was warm, smelling just like his cologne and lined with luscious fur, something he’d picked out for himself on a planet during one of your various trips.
The timelord knocked on the roof of the car with his knuckles, the hypnotised driver pushing on the ignition as the windows to the vehicle rolled all the way up.
"Master, I missed you." you admitted into the fur of his jacket, a smile appearing on the Master's lips as you made yourself comfortable. He stole another kiss from you, this time a sweeter, more chaste peck.
"As did I, my dear girl. As did I."
Your blush was positively adorable. The Master looked you up and down, a smile settling to a playful smirk at your rather exciting disguise. You noticed his gaze, lifting his chin with your fingers to meet your eyes.
"What do you think of the disguise?"
The Master grinned, watching you unabashedly attempt to seek his approval.
"You're positively radiant, my love. Even a fabulous disguise such as this can't hide your beauty."
You smiled, pleased with the praise you’d received. You sank back into his embrace, watching the road pass through the front windscreen as your head rested upon his shoulder.
"I never thought I'd sink low enough to be a UNIT officer."
"No doubt you were the most beautiful officer there."
You giggled once more, scratching the underside of the Master's beard. He hummed in delight, pulling you closer to his side. He enjoyed this little game of yours that you were currently playing.
"And no doubt it wasn't my face they were busy looking at."
The Master's face dared to sour at the notion, but you pressed a sweet kiss to his hand, pecking the leather just above where his wedding band lay on his finger. He sighed, relenting to your pledging kiss. At least you knew who you belonged to, even if those perverted, prying officers back at UNIT didn't. He'd enjoy pulling out every eyeball from every officer  that dared to objectify you, but he currently enjoyed the thought of your company more. Besides, there were bigger plans in motion than petty, small-scale revenge.
"I trust you were not only stealing hearts, but were successful in your little task I set you, hmm?"
You beamed up at the timelord with a gasp, nodding with vigour and patting the briefcase at your side. The Master had finally let you out into the field on earth- he relied on you greatly during his plans in distant galaxies, letting you play pretend and dress up to cause as much mischief as you desired. But there was something about earth, about the idea of a human opponent, that made him keep you close to his side. This was an exciting change of pace.
"Yes Master. Documents, files, plans, anything and everything that I could get my hands on. There's nothing more thrilling than seeing 'top secret, keep out.' In big red letters on a dossier. How can a girl resist?"
The Master smiled widely, obviously thrilled, pulling you into his lap and rewarding you with a kiss to your forehead. You squealed happily, head resting on his shoulder as his hands came to rest on your lower back and thigh, fingers digging into the soft flesh sat taught against the tight fitting material.
"Good girl, my darling- What a good girl you are. You've made your Master very happy indeed, my dear. How proud he is of his best, most obedient girl."
Your whole body curled up tighter in his arms, pure happiness coursing through your veins. Master was proud, Master was happy. He was drowning you in buckets of praise and telling you everything you wished to hear. It was all you could hope for.
You kissed the underside of his jaw, trembling slightly as his cold, leather clad fingers began to wander up and down your thigh. You allowed your own fingers to trail along his jawline, leather gloves against his skin in return making him almost purr with Joy.
"Your Master couldn't ask for a better, more beautiful girl to obey his every command with no hesitation. How perfect you are. Nobody could ever compare."
You moaned softly. You gathered your strength, pulling yourself from his lap to straddle his waist, hands gripping the fur of his collar as you pressed your foreheads together. Your noses brushed together in collision as his lips teased yours, tension building in your core as you felt his hands move to support your behind as you adjusted your position.
"Please, please Master... Say it. Say it for your good girl."
You bit your lip, stifling a moan as an arm curled around your lower back and a hand came to grasp your chin, thumb pulling your lip from your teeth and brushing over the red stained skin.
"Own me, command me. Tell me I'm yours."
The Master chuckled, voice low as you began to grind against his suit pants. He treasured how much you desired to be under his command, the power his words had over your mind.
"My darling girl, your mind and body belong to me: obey me, obey your Masters every command."
You moaned louder than before, grinding harder against his lap- you could feel his growing hard beneath you, a drawn out 'yes' escaping your lips. The Master purred darkly, snapping his teeth together as you grasped hold of his face in your hands.
"My precious girl, irreplaceable and invaluable. Obey me, pledge yourself to me"
You groaned even louder, eyes fluttering shut as your noses brushed together, your tongue slowly teasing his top lip as he gazed up at you with hungry, heavy eyes. His words were sending chills up your spine, more than the cold outside ever could.
"Master... I’m yours. Every part of me belongs to you, every part of me desperate to serve you. To please you. To be owned. Please, show me I exist only to please you."
Your words were obviously getting him hot and bothered. You pushed off his coat, allowing it to fall against the leather seat, rapidly pulling your hands to your dress as you undid the buttons that lead from your neck to just below your bust. You pushed open the material, exposing your bare chest against his as you pushed your ass further back into his groping hands, his fingers trailing to tug at the hems of your stockings and the lacy material of your panties- which were already painfully damp.
The Master snarled, lips moving to nip and bite at your now exposed neck. His tongue licked at the sensitive skin as he allowed his lips to trail over your breasts. A filthy groan dripped from your tongue as you fought to undo the zipper on his pants, your breath caught in your throat as he suddenly growled at the sensation of your wandering fingers.
He grasped hold on your hands, causing you to whine, pulling them up to his mouth with a sneer and biting at the leather material. Each glove was yanked from your hand by his teeth, his lips racing to kiss your wedding ring which shone upon your finger. You purred, a noise that seemingly pleased him, as a leather gloved hand grasped hold of your throat while another moved to grasp tight purchase of your ass.
Your fingers nimbly fought to undo the zipper and the remaining button on his pants, freeing his cock from his boxers and beginning to stroke it with well practiced precision. With a sharp tug your panties were pulled from under your dress, the lace slipping down your thighs and being hastily pulled off your ankles and dropped to the floor. Anticipation was crippling you, your head thrown back as the Master guided your hips to slide you carefully onto his ready and waiting cock.
The back of the car was filled with your excruciating gasp, the fierce moan rippling from your throat as both of his arms wrapped around your back to support you. Your hands once again found his neck, your arms wrapping around it as you fisted into his salt and pepper hair. Instantly the pair of you dived against each other's lips, your moans muffled within each other's mouths as you began to ride him on the backseat of the car. His tongue was precise, warm and tender inside your mouth as his fingertips dragged down your back, beginning an ecstasy fuelled sensory overload.
You whined, desperate for the connection, whimpering his name into his mouth.
"Take it off... Master, please."
He seemed to understand perfectly- and to share the sentiment, his gloved fingers furiously fighting to unbutton the rest of your dress and push the black garment to the car floor. You gasped at the rush of chill on your back, pushing yourself deep onto his cock as you swivelled your hips and allowed yourself to bounce on his lap- his fingertips stroking up your spine, grasping hold of the black cap and blonde wig that hid underneath it. He pulled off what was left of your disguise, letting your hair fall free as you skilfully rode him in nothing but your heels, stockings and bra. The sight was sinful to the highest degree. Thank god your driver was hypnotised, or the noises you were making would cause him a dangerous distraction.
Moans and whimpers fell from your lips, your whines combined with the Master's harsh grunts creating a symphony of pleasure in the backseat of the car. You were practically falling apart in his lap, putty in his hands, desperately rocking your hips and grinding down as he supported you from beneath. You allowed your head to throw back, tears almost streaming down your cheeks at the waves of pleasure ravishing over your entire body. The Master was deliberate, thrusting hard and in time with your grinding as you both rode towards satisfaction as the car sped down the road.
It was positively thrilling, your movements melting together as you felt him handle you like his most precious treasure. It was an utter delight to your system, the feeling of the Master roughly yet carefully thrusting his cock inside of you, seeking to make you utterly boneless in his arms. You could feel your climax was suddenly close, the thin veil of sweat building on your brow a symbol of your devoted effort. The Master was also close to his satisfaction, the sensation building in his core as he came closer and closer to the precipice of ecstasy.
"Master, I'm close, I'm so close."
"Hold on, my darling. Good girl, such a good girl"
His rough voice was enough to make you cum there and then. It was the unspoken rule- you came only when he did. You both believed it was the polite thing to do in any situation.
You gave a final series of grinds before the Master eventually came with a low grunt, the sensation of release making your previous ever growing moans seem miniscule in comparison. You cried out desperately as you also came, the Master's arms wrapping around you as you tiredly slumped forward onto his chest. Both of you gasped for air, the Master carefully removing his handkerchief from his pocket and lightly dabbing at your forehead. Your chest rose and fell quickly, his own hearts racing in tandem in his chest.
You hummed, nestling into his chest and placing a trail of kisses to his neck as he mopped your exhausted brow. You smiled, curling up within his embrace, the chill of sweat causing you to shiver under his touch..
"My love, you never fail to bring me to the utmost parts of ecstasy" he murmured softly, removing the smudged eyeliner from the corner of your eye. You sniffled, sighing at the scent of his cologne on his collar, relishing in his post sex praise.
"Love you, Master. So much..." You murmured, voice small against his jacket. If it weren't for his timelord hearing, you were sure he'd struggle to understand. But he did, softly tucking your hair behind your ear and kissing your lips tenderly. You adored his after sex kisses.
"And I love you, my dear girl. Here, let me wrap you up warm. You'll catch your death, and people will stare."
You smiled tiredly, nodding as he carefully pulled his fur coat onto your exhausted body.
"We wouldn't want that, would we? I’m yours." you proclaimed, a stance that caused the Master to chuckle adoringly.
"That's right, you belong to your Master and your Master alone. And when we get home he'll wrap you up in the softest sheets, allowing you to feast on the finest delicacy in the safety of his arms. Because that's where you belong, my dear girl, after such a delightful performance."
The thought was drool worthy. You weren't sure you didn't already start. When the car arrived at the residency the Master guided you from the car, supporting your arm as you let your head rest upon his shoulder. With an instructing snap the driver grasped hold of your clothes, another guard positioned outside the house grasping hold on your briefcases. You placed a kiss to the timelord's cheek, a gesture he returned with a small boop of your nose. You blushed even harder, feeling so safe wrapped up in the warmth of his coat, leaning against his side.
"Master?" You asked softly, voice tired as you made your way up the steps.
"Yes, my beloved?" He replied, a nickname that made your whole body shiver with adoration.
“I don't think the Doctor trusts me… I think he suspects me.”
The Master tilted his head, raising an eyebrow as you whined into his collar. How adorable, you still cared for the plan even in the after sex haze. He shushed you softly as you continued to mumble against his suit jacket.
“I think he recognized-”
The Master shook his head, causing you to stop in your trail of thought.
“Later, my dear. We can discuss business in the morning. You’ve done so well.”
“But-”
The Master shushed you once more, pausing at the top of the steps of the townhouse. He held you to his chest, guiding you chin up to meet his eyes once more. You pouted softly, his thumb pulling on your bottom lip.
“A familiar face will be the least of his problems, my dear. I’ll send Chin Lee on a little mission tomorrow, a small distraction will be enough for us to continue working on the machine back at Stangmore. Trust me, my darling.”
The Master finally let go of your lip, causing you to moan softly as he pushed a stray hair from your face.
“Let's get you inside, you look positively exhausted.”
“Hmm, I wonder why.”
The Master gave a warning chuckle as you entered into the grand foyer of the townhouse, his eyes widening in a harsh refusal as the hypnotised doorman moved to take your coat. You blushed, this time from embarrassment, the Master ushering you further into the house as you pulled the coat further across your chest.
“I suppose I should take a bath. You can't take over the world while filthy.”
The Master grinned, happy his enjoyment of the finer things in life and his presentational standards had passed on to you. He held your face softly, brushing his thumb over the apple of your cheek.
“You rest now, my darling. I’ll have some dinner prepared.”
“Nothing fancy, Master. Consider my appetite firmly satiated.”
You wiggled your eyebrows as the Master shook his head, a small giggle escaping from your lips as you began to head upstairs. You considered yourself lucky you could get away with such cheek.
“If you insist, my dear. I’ll send one of the men out to get something quote unquote ‘’not fancy’. I heard there's a lovely quaint little bistro just around the corner”
The Master raised a confused eyebrow as your laughter echoed from the top of the stairs.

Neighbors, Pt. 4
Rafael Barba x Reader. CW: angst, gun violence, language. Episode references: Nationwide Manhunt (SVU) & The Song of Gregory William Yates (CPD). WC: 1200 (1454)
AN: Another non-smut chapter? Who am I? Forgive me for typos.
AN2: I am starting off with a tiny snippet of ch.3′s ending only because it’s been awhile since I updated, hence the word count difference noted above.
--
The next morning, Rafael knocked on your hotel door, hoping to check in on you. You opened the door, clad in nothing but an oversized t-shirt, that barely skimmed the tops of your thighs. Rafael swallowed hard.
“Hey – “ Rafael began. His voice trailed as he looked past your shoulder, watching Adam walk in the background.
“What’s up? I told Liv I’d be down in 20. Has there been an update?”
“Um, yeah – overnight Carisi and Rollins apprehended Rudnick. He was discovered hiding in a docked boat by Caroga Lake. Rudnick suffered multiple injuries.” Rafael replied. Adam joined from behind, tugging on his shirt. Rafael ignored him, focusing on you.
“I'm not shedding any tears.” You replied, as you crossed your arms.
“Yates hobbled him - broke both his knees, his ankles, pierced his eardrum. Just left him to die.” Rafael continued.
“Is he talking yet?”
“Only to Carisi, and he's in and out of consciousness. He did indicate the plan was to cross the border at the Saint Lawrence River.”
You pushed past Adam and grabbed your jeans, which were laying on a heap on the floor. “Come on – lets go.”
“What are you going to do?” Rafael asked.
You holstered your gun. “What I should have done a long time ago.”
“Olivia…”
“Olivia nothing. Now, Rafael – just get out of my way.”
Rafael looked at Adam. “You’re going to let her just go after a serial killer?” Adam scoffed. “No. I’ll go with her. Now we’ll see you at the church.”
--
Rafael followed you to the elevator bank, basically nipping at your heels. “Y/N – don’t be foolish. This is exactly what Yates would want you to do.”
You ignored Rafael and pressed the down button repeatedly, as if doing so were to make the elevator arrive more quickly. “Y/N! Just stop!” Rafael put a hand on your shoulder. You spun, coming chest to chest with the prosecutor.
“Rafael, this is not your battle! Back off!” You snapped. The elevator dinged, signaling its arrival. Rafael moved to follow you and Adam stepped in front of you, blocking Rafael.
“Let her go man.” Adam replied sternly, outstretching his arm on the elevator side portal, preventing the door from closing.
Rafael looked past Adam’s shoulder, to you. “Y/N.”
You met his eyes, which like yours, were wet with unshed tears. “Rafael. Try to understand.”
Adam stepped aside and the door began to slowly shut. Rafael tried pressing the call button to prevent it from closing, but it was too late. Rafael swore loudly and took out his phone, making a call to Liv.
--
Back at the church, Rafael pushed past through the cornucopia of law enforcement, in hopes of spotting you. He spotted Liv and made way towards her.
“Liv!”
“I can't get a hold of Y/N.” The brunette lieutenant replied with worry etched on her face. She spotted Adam walking over in the distance.
“Adam!”
“Where’s Y/N?” Rafael asked angrily.
“Wait – she’s not here?” Adam asked as he placed his hands on his hips.
“I thought she was with you.” Rafael replied. “You two left together.”
“No. We split up. I followed a dead end. She followed another. Where’s Lindsay?”
“She’s not here either.” Liv replied, frowning. “Did Lindsay know Yates was headed north?”
“I guess... Dodds put an APB out on a pickup truck he hot-wired.”
“They’re both going after him.” Rafael replied. “I might have let out that Rudnick mentioned that the plan was to cross the border at the Saint Lawrence River.” Rafael replied, before letting out a slew of curse words in Spanish.
Amanda jogged over. “Liv, I just got word that Dodds is with Lindsey and Y/N.”
Liv grabbed her police radio. “Dodds, this is Liv – you need to turn around. Now.”
--
“Copy that, Lieutenant. Liv wants us to come back.” Mike replied, as he began to turn the car around.
“Yeah, I'm not doing that.” You replied. Lindsey nodded, as she leaned forward from the middle backseat. “I’m with Y/N on this.”
“Detectives, I know he killed someone close to you, but this isn't us anymore.” Mike reasoned.
Lindsey shook her head and from her peripheral vision, spotted an abandoned police car. “What the hell is that? There's been no radio traffic. Pull over.”
Mike brought the car to a stop. It had started to rain hard, coming down in sheets making the ground muddy and slippery with wet leaves. The three of you each drew out your guns and carefully canvassed the area. Lindsey spotted the body of the trooper.
“I got a trooper down!”
“Is he –” you asked, knowing full well the answer.
“He's gone. So's his gun!” Lindsey shouted as realization hit her.
The sound of gunshots filled the air. You all ran to take cover, but it was too late for Mike, as a bullet tore through his shoulder.
“Dodds!” You screamed.
Mike groaned as he made way behind the car. “Stay down. Take cover!” He reached for his radio. “This is Sergeant Dodds. Shots fired; two officers down. Suspect is armed and in flight. Requesting immediate backup. I repeat, immediate backup!”  Mike groaned leaning against the car.
“Dodds, are you okay?” Lindsey asked rushing over.
“I'm fine. Just stay down.” You noticed a dark figure in the trees and you took off in hot pursuit.
“Detective, what are you doing? Detective, stay down!” Mike shouted.
Lindsey whipped her head around and took off after you. “Get back here! Wait for backup! Get back here! Detective!” Mike continued to shout.
You pursued Yates, firing your gun as you did so. Your lungs burned as you ran at full speed. Suddenly you were hit with searing pain at the knee. “Fuck!” You screamed. Your leg immediately buckled and you fell to the ground, your hands bracing against the wet ground. You leaned up slightly, but before you could do anything more, you were hit with another bullet, this time to your shoulder. You collapsed in pain, unable to move. The rain was cold but your shoulder and leg were warm as blood seeped through. Shakily you touched your shoulder, wincing as you touched the wound. You brought your hand to your face, seeing your fingertips coated in your blood.
“Y/N! Y/N – are you okay?” You looked up and saw Lindsey above you.
“Yates…” You gritted. “Go get the bastard.”
Lindsey nodded. “I’m coming back for you; I promise.” Then Lindsey took off.
Her footsteps trailed off and you focused your attention to the sky above you. You watched the rain fell; deep throbbing pain began to radiate through you. You were soaked to the bone and you began to shiver. You felt sleepy and your eyes fluttered close. The last image you had in your head was of Rafael at the elevator from earlier. Your face was wet – you could no longer tell what was rain and what were your tears. You forced your eyes to remain open, willing yourself to stay awake. It was too much and you felt yourself giving in.
‘Rafael – I am so sorry.’
--
Your eyes fluttered open, voices above you shouted nonsensical things; you could make out an intense bright light, but it was fuzzy. You could hear the urgency in the voices around you. Your brain made out the words – “subclavian artery” and “the one in the knee wasn’t through and through.” It took too much energy to stay awake; it was so much easier to give in to the darkness.
--
Rafael knocked gently on the door to your room. He carried a bouquet of orange roses. He winced, seeing you in bed, your shoulder in a sling as well as your leg. Adam looked up at him. “Hey.”
“How – how is she?” Rafael asked, as he made his way in.
Adam frowned. “She – she developed compartment syndrome. So they had to do another surgery. But they said with time, PT – lots of PT, she should be okay.”
“Another surgery? Jesus, fuck.” Rafael let out a long exhale.
Adam scratched his chin, eyeing Rafael up and down. He took a deep breath before talking. “You know, she talks about you. Non-stop.”
Rafael looked at the young detective in surprise. “She talks about me?”
Adam nodded. “Ever since she moved to New York. Her pain in the ass neighbor who she works with. Look, she and I…. what we had… at the time, it was great. It was great until it wasn’t. So yeah, she talks about you. Take that for what it is worth.”
Rafael let out another exhale. “Okay.”
Adam’s phone buzzed and he looked at it. “I gotta go, Yates is back in Chicago – but… but having been in this spot myself - when you're waking up, it’s better when there is someone is there. You shouldn’t be alone. It’s good that you are here.”
Rafael shook Adam’s hand. “Good luck.”
“Thanks. Take care of our girl.”
Rafael nodded and turned his attention back to you. He felt incredibly helpless seeing you. You seemed so small and fragile in the large hospital bed. He took out his phone and played your favorite Bach cantata. And when he was certain that Adam was gone – he dropped his head into his hands and cried.

Avenger’s Tower: Part 3
Universe: A law and Order SVU x Avengers crossover
Warnings: mentions of sensitive things related to law and order SVU, but nothing graphic.
Pairing: Steve Rogers X Reader
AN: SVU’s timeline is going to be changed up a little. Just a heads up. Also taking suggestions on what you would like to see in this fic. Leave them in the comments or the ask box.
Part 1
Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You drive back to the tower, exhausted, covered in grime, and more than a little grumpy. Carisi sits next to you, as you drive, and you pull into the garage designated for the Avengers and family members. “You staying the night?”
“If you don’t mind. I’m too exhausted to drive back to my place and your couch is comfy.”
It’s happened more than once, Sonny spending the night on your couch. He was your partner and one of your best friends. The two of you catch the elevator to your floor, it was already six in the morning, and you know Peter should be getting up for school soon.
You exit at your floor and make your way to the door. When you enter you stare at the sight before you, there’s a pile of kids asleep on your couch. Sonny smiles at you, “You take in more kids?”
You elbow him in the side, “They’re Clint and Laura’s kids, and the Maximoff twins, and Ned.”
He nods, deposits his jacket, and whispers, “I’ll make breakfast. You go change. Peter sees blood on your clothes and he’ll freak.”
“Thanks Sonny.”
The man hunt had been brutal. Yates had killed at least five more people in his escape, he’d shot your sergeant, Mike Dodds, and nearly killed Rudnick.
You strip out of your shirt, stained with Mike’s blood. You’d arrived after the Chicago detective had chased Yates into the forest. You’d applied pressure and had ridden along with him to the hospital. In the end Rudnick had been taken back into custody, and Yates was on the run and officially out of your zone. Chicago was keeping Liv in the loop.
You take a quick shower, and change into some comfortable pajamas. You make your way back out and go to wake Peter up. He comes awake blinking rappidly. When he sees you, he hugs you, “You’re home.”
“Yep. And youre going to be late for school.”
“You’re not hurt are you? The news said that Yates and Rudnick had killed more people: a cop, a state trooper, and that a detective was shot.”
You swallow the lump in your throat, “Dodds was shot, but he’ll be okay.”
You brush his hair back, “I thought you pulled a movie marathon.”
“Nope, we were watching the news. Who’s cooking?”
“Sonny. He’s making a full on breakfast so wake your friends.”
Peter smiles, “Awesome. Sonny’s food is always good.”
“Better than mine?”
Peter only gives you a sheepish smile before you head into the kitchen. You sit on the counter while Sonny cooks, “So, they were watching the news?”
“Unfortunately.”
“He’s going to press you for details.”
You shake your head and take a sip of coffee, which tastes suspiciously like decaf, “He knows better.”
There’s a knock on the door, and you listen as Peter rushes for it. You hear the voices of your remaining neighbors. Sonny freezes, and hurriedly whispers, “Is that Captain America?”
You shrug, “Probably. He lives two doors down.”
A look of excitement takes over his face, and it reminds you of a puppy. You roll your eyes, “Go. I’ll man the pancakes.”
He gives you very specific instructions before going into the living room. You listen as Peter introduces Sonny to everyone, and the resulting stuttering Sonny has as he meets Steve.
You flip pancakes for a few minutes before Steve walks into the kitchen. “So, you made it home safe. Queens seems relieved.”
“Yeah, it wasn’t the best case.”
“He mentioned that. Mentioned a few other things too.”
You raise an eyebrow before flipping pancakes off the griddle, “Explain please.”
“I watched his six last night on patrol along with Tony. He’s a little over protective of your nephew.”
“I’ve noticed.”
“He talked about how you’re a bit of a work-a-holic.”
“You better not give me a lecture. From what I’ve seen on the news the entire team is made up of work-a-holics.”
“Fair enough.”
You hand him the pancakes and point at the table, before shouting, “Food!”
A stampede flows into your kitchen, and you find that Laura and Clint have joined the madness. Sonny, still wide eyed, starts making more food. Peter shoves three pancakes down his throat before wrapping an arm around your waist, “Make sure you get some sleep.”
“I will. Thanks dad.”
He grins before rushing out of the kitchen with Ned on his heels. This leaves you alone with a bunch of people you really don’t know and Sonny. You’re saved from an awkward interaction by a knock on the door. Tony is there, with Morgan and Pepper, “Hi. Peter texted that there were pancakes.”
Pepper mouths the words, “I am so sorry.” As they enter and head into the kitchen.
You go to sit on the couch, exhausted. When your phone rings you groan, and answer it anyway. “Parker.”
“It’s Live. We need to talk.”
“I’m in my pajamas and have an apartment full of Avengers plus Sonny.”
There’s a moment of silence before Liv laughs, “You live such a strange life.”
“Tell me about it. Is it important?”
“We have an undercover mission that needs doing, we have a lead on a guy dealing with child pornography. Get some rest and come in tomorrow around three in the afternoon. Let Carisi know.”
“Will do. Any more news on Mike?”
“He’s awake. Doing well. Should be discharged in a few days at the most. He’ll be out on physical therapy, but he’ll be back.”
“Good. Tell him he owes me a shirt.”
Live laughs, “Will do.”
You hang up to find Carisi watching you, “We’ve got a case. We’ll need to be back at around three tomorrow afternoon.”
He frowns, “No rest for the wicked. My clothes still in their same spot?”
“Yep.”
He goes to change, and you explain to the rest of the snoops, and Steve makes a reappearance to sit down beside you, “Where’s Dominic?”
“Ohh you get to call him Dominic. You are special mister. He went to change clothes. The entire squad keeps outfits at each others’ homes. Makes life easier in the long run. He’s going to crash in Peter’s room.”
“You want me to clear everone out?”
“I’m good. I’m used to the noise, my sleep schedule is so messed up it’s ridiculous.”
“Well, at the very least I’ll make sure the kitchen is clean.”
“I appreciate that. And thanks for going with Peter last night. I know you’re retired and all.”
He grins, “Yeah it cut into my chess in the park time.”
“Well, what else is a hundred year old man to do with his time?”
“It was that or a barbershop quartet.”
You laugh, “Thanks. I needed a laugh.”
“Anytime.”
You smile one more time before you head off to bed.

A Day Away From Work || The Brigadier x Reader
Request: Grandma after I forced her to give me ideas
Summary: On a day off, Reader challenges her long-time friend to a water gun fight. Soaked, the Brigadier challenges her in hand-to-hand combat and surprises reader with an unexpected twist. The UNIT team gets a surprise as well.
Word count: 1,214
A/N: Snuck a little Thoschei in there too
The Brigadier stood outside, looking around in hopes of finding something to do. He wasn’t used to days off, he avoided them if he could. Work was a majority of his life, using his free-time to either sleep or do more work.
But his good friend y/n, who he had met before they both joined UNIT, forced him away from his work and invited him to her house. He was told to wait outside and wasn’t quite sure how to pass the time.
Suddenly, y/n poked him in the back. “I bet I’m a better shot than you,” she stated.
The Brigadier turned around, slightly shocked at the sudden claim. “I doubt it,” he said, turning around. He was immediately sprayed with water from the gun the y/n had poked him with. “a water gun?”
“Yeah!” she exclaimed, tossing another one at him. He caught it with ease. “Think you can beat me?”
“Of course I ca-” he said, but was cut off by a sudden stream of water hitting him in the face. Y/n giggled as she ran off.
She hid behind the tree right near the large pond, getting hit in the back multiple times by the Brigadier as she made her way towards it. “Whoever is the least wet by the time our guns are empty wins!” she shouted from her hiding spot.
In the end, the Brigadier won. He managed to sneak up behind y/n as she was frantically checking the backyard trying to find him, not realizing he was right next to her. It hadn’t even crossed her mind to check her area as well. He emptied his gun right then and there, y/n in too much of a state of shock to do anything about it. When the Brigadier was done, y/n sped out form her spot and flew right by the pond. The Brigadier went after her, stopping when she did right at the edge.
“Alright, Alistair, you win!” she said, putting her hands up. The Brigadier has picked up her dropped gun and held it out in from of him. He tossed it to the side as y/n walked towards him with her hand outstretched, seemingly ready to just shake on it and call it a day.
Instead, she used that hand and her other one to push him into the pond. It was really just a hole covered in cement and filled with water, but calling it that didn’t sound very nice. Even with nothing there to make him dirty, getting shoved into cold water wasn’t very pleasant. Y/n had hardly gotten him with her gun in the first place, meaning she lost, but she was sure to change that with this.
“I win!” she exclaimed, laughing as the Brigadier struggled to get his hair out of his face. She walked up and offered him a hand. Big mistake.
The Brigadier grabbed her hand, but instead of letting y/n help him get out, he yanked back as hard as he could and pulled y/n in. She spit water at him as she resurfaced, the brigadier making a face of disgust as she began to laugh again. Y/n jumper at him, both of them sinking to the bottom and coming back up as they wrestled each other.
“I don’t think this is the best idea in the water,” the Brigadier said, lifting y/n up and setting her back down on the land.
“Yeah...” she said, and offered him her hand. She hesitated slightly this time, but he actually let her help him get out this time.
They both tried to squeeze some of the water out of their clothes with not much success. Y/n shook her head like a dog, water flying out of her hair as the Brigadier put his hands up. There wasn’t much of a point, he was already soaked and his hands wouldn’t do much anyways. This reaction was more of a reflex.
“The being said,” the brigadier added. “I bet I’m better at hand-to-hand combat than you,”
Y/n scoff. “Definitely not!” she exclaimed and immediately lunged for the Brigadier. He caught her in his arms, holding her close. Her hands were held in place by his chest pressing up against hers, also causing their faces to be incredibly close.
Y/n barely had a chance to look at the Brigadier’s face before he closed the gap between them, relaxing his grip to drop his hands down to y/n’s waist. She slid her hands up his chest draped them over his shoulders, chuckling lightly.
“What’s so funny?” the Brigadier mumbled against her lips.
“You just wanted an excuse to kiss me, didn’t you?” she accused, moving her head away to look at him.
The Brigadier responded but kissing her again, y/n taking that as a yes, but he doesn’t want to admit it.
The kiss was interrupted again by another question asked by y/n. “How long have you been wanting to do that?” she asked, the Brigadier sighing.
“You can ask questions laster, can we please just continue with what we were doing?” he asked. Y/n smiled and nodded eagerly, kissing him more aggressively than before. Third time’s a charm.
Somehow they had moved towards the porch, y/n having hopped up onto the wooden table. Y/n tugged at the Brigadier’s hair and leaned into each of his touches. Their breathing was heavy by this point and hands may or may not have started to wander underneath shirts.
“Hey, y/n, would you like to come over for din- Oh, I’m so sorry!” came the sudden voice of Mike Yates, who happened to be y/n’s neighbor that had a gate leading directly into her yard. He often knocked on the sliding door in her backyard, inviting her to dinner with the rest of their UNIT friendship group. This group consisted of the Brigadier, y/n, Yates, The Doctor, Benton, and Jo. They all just happened to be sitting in Mike’s backyard, peering through the opening in the tall bushes that separated y/n and Mike’s property. The group this time also included the Master, which was certainly unusual considering, well, everything about him.
“Mike, uh, sure!” y/n stuttered our after having shoved the Brigadier a couple feet away from her, frightened at the sudden noise.
Mike nodded and turned around awkwardly, walking back to the gathering that waited for him on the other side of the fence. Y/n took the Brigadier’s hand and they followed Mike.
As soon as they sat down the chatter that had built up halted, and y/n and the Brigadier looked to each other then to everyone else.
“Why is the Master here?” y/n asked, trying to take the attention off of herself and the Brigadier.
“I found him and the Doctor in a similar predicament to yours...” Mike answered, earning a laugh from all the others. The Master glared as the Doctor laughed along with everyone else.
Y/n enjoyed the rest of the evening, laughing with all her friends and sneakily pressing kisses to the Brigadier’s cheek everyone in a while, getting ‘ooh’s from everyone. The Master and the Doctor wore more sneaky with affection, holding hands under the table. Y/n, sitting right next to the Doctor, noticed this and decided to do the same. For the sake of the Brigadier’s dignity.

Pick Up Lines
First Doctor
“Are you a Dalek? Cause you’ve been rolling through my mind all day.”
At first, he found your pickup lines silly but this one would make him smile even when he’s in a bad mood.
Second Doctor
“Are you a Tardis? Cause when I look at you I feel like I’m flying around the universe.”
He would say a different one each time but this one made you smile because of how sweet it was.
Third Doctor
“Not even the Daleks could exterminate my love for you.”
You would be talking about his regeneration process and if he would fall out of love with you if he changed or if he would ever leave you behind. In relationships talks about the future were inevitable but he would say this to make you smile and it would ease your concerns.
Fourth Doctor
“You have got to be a Tardis because I can see the heavenly bodies in your eyes.”
He would usually use pick-up lines as a way to apologize when you would ignore him after enduring another one of his adventures.
Fifth Doctor
“I was wondering if you had a spare heart? Mine were just stolen.”
He didn’t know about pick-up lines until he met you and this was the first one he ever used on you. It came as a surprise but a welcomed one.
Sixth Doctor
“I did a scan for alien tech, and it told me you were out of this world.”
You were on a new planet and when you asked if he did a scan for alien tech he used this pick-up line as a reply.
Seventh Doctor
“I feel lighter and weightless whenever I am with you like only a Tardis could do.”
You would be talking about your relationship and he used this pick-up line to lighten the mood and also describe how he felt.
Eighth Doctor
“I blame global warming…your hotness is too much for the planet to handle.”
You were talking about Earth when he blurted out this pick-up line. You had stopped in your tracks, surprised by his sudden flirty comment.
War Doctor
“Hey, doc, I think there’s something wrong with my hearts. They stop whenever I look at you.”
Everything was new and exciting to you as you had never left Gallifrey before. When you discovered pick-up lines he had listened for over an hour as you came up with new ones, giggling afterward. He would smile and shake his head, chuckling for the first time since you both fled Gallifrey.
Ninth Doctor
“Our future depends on one single moment of one impossible day. Could right here with you be that moment?”
He used this line when you both struggled to admit your feelings for each other. He used this line and it opened up a conversation about your feelings for each other.
Tenth Doctor
“Let’s get wibbly wobbly timely wimey bangidy wangidy sexity wexity…”
You were quickly taking off your clothes and he had used this pick-up line while taking off his shirt. You started giggling and he grinned at the blush on your cheeks.
Eleventh Doctor
“You remind me of my Chapstick cause you de balm.”
It was a game you had been playing all day and it got on Amy’s nerves. The game was called who could come up with the worst pickup line? And this line is what made you win the game.
Twelfth Doctor
“I’ll make your towers sing.”
You raised an eyebrow, looking up at him, your back pressed against the Tardis doors. He sent you a smirk and you giggled as you headed into the Tardis.
Thirteenth Doctor
“You made me lose control of my regeneration, you are hot like that.”
She was describing her regeneration process to her new companions and the pick-up line had been said so casually you were sure she didn’t know what she had said. You ignored the blush on your cheeks and the smirk Yaz sent your way.
Fourteenth Doctor
"Your hand looks heavy, can I hold it for you?"
You turned to the tall Timelord when he appeared beside you, holding his hand out. You shook your head, smiling when he wiggled his eyebrows, taking his hand.
"You're an idiot."
"Now I'm your idiot." He held up your joined hands, showing off his wedding ring that he had worn proudly for the past hour since you slipped it on his finger.
Delgado!Master
“Your eyes shine brighter than Gallifreyan suns.”
It was rare when he would talk about Gallifrey but he would answer any questions you had about his planet. He was deep in thought, not finishing his description of the sky on Gallifrey when he turned to you, a serious expression on his face as he said the pick-up line. You would playfully roll your eyes when he would grin and he would smile at the blush on your cheeks.
Ainley!Master
“Are you the Tardis? Because I’d ride you through all of time and space.”
You were explaining the concept of pick-up lines after he was confused when overhearing a man starting a conversation with one. The woman had turned him down but The Master caught your meaning right away and smirked at you.
“Is that an invitation?”
Roberts!Master
“Do you have any Gallifreyan in you? Want some?”
You were three steps ahead of the Doctor and as he celebrated with wine he had turned to you with a mischievous smirk and you had blushed from his words, causing him to chuckle.
Jacobi!Master
“I would like to be your Tardis darling, the one who can make you see the beauty of the universe.”
You knew he didn’t admire the universe as the Doctor did so when you joined him permanently after the war you were determined to make him see the potential you saw everywhere you went. You were planning your next adventure and you said this pick-up line while he piloted the Tardis, causing him to knock a lever, sending the Tardis sideways before he quickly fixed it, clearing his throat. You smirked at the Timelord when he told you to behave.
Simm!Master
“Fancy a trip to Uranus?”
He would approach your desk, wiggling his eyebrows and you shushed him, making sure no one had heard him.  He chuckled as he held out his hand.
“Everyone thinks we’re taking the rest of the day off.” He winked, leading you out of your office.
You rolled your eyes, “It’ll take more than a pick-up line to get me in bed, Mr. Saxon.” He smirked when you walked ahead.
“Trust me, love, I know.”
Missy
“I’m sorry, I think both of my hearts just skipped a beat.”
You had become sassy towards the Doctor and she had been watching with a grin, seeing the old you were still underneath the hero the Doctor had created and blurted it out, ending your argument.
Dhawan!Master
“I’m so drunk off your love, I’m Silurian.”
It was the moment he realized the depth of his feelings and the pick-up line wasn’t intended to be one but when you kissed him he was glad he said it. Although you did not know what a Silurian was yet he took you to see them on your next adventure.
Jamie McCrimmon
“If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I would be walking around my garden forever.”
You were worried about your future if and when you returned home. Would Jamie still feel the same about you? He had silenced your concerns with this pick-up line and made you smile.
Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart
“You have silenced me with your beauty.”
It was your weekly date night and he had said this pick-up line as you came downstairs, where he was waiting. You playfully hit his chest and he smiled as he put his hand on your back, kissing your cheek.
“You look beautiful.”
Mike Yates
“You’ve got a nice set of legs. What time do they open?”
He had said it so casually that you didn’t pick up on it right away and you laughed, leaning into his chest. You had heard worse pick-up lines from him but this one was the best one he came up with.
Alydon
“Do you have a tan or are you always this hot?”
He smirked, leaning against a tree as you trained. Your aim faltered and the arrow narrowly missed the target. You turned to him with a glare and he chuckled, seeing the amusement in your eyes.
Rory Williams
“You make my centurion stand at attention.”
You were playing a game of swapping pick-up lines after discovering what they were and he smiled when you laughed, chuckling along with you. He saw the blush on your cheeks and grinned.
“That worked, didn’t it? It totally worked.”
Ian Chesterton
“If I told you you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?”
You were washing dishes when he placed his hands on your hips and whispered in your ear, making you blush.

The room fell silent. The lights return, centering to a spotlight on stage. A tall, lanky man stood at the center of the stage silhouetted by the harsh light. He brought the mike up shouting, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Weaver’s Nest.” A light applause followed, and he shushed the audience by bringing a finger to his lips. He circled around the stage, “we have a variety backstage tonight, tigers, lions and for you kinky bastards, kitten’s.” A laughter rung throughout the area, exciting the host.
Yates pulled me tighter into his embrace, sliding his hands up and down my sides affectionately. I felt his hot breath on the nape of my neck. It sent an involuntary shiver down my spine causing him to chuckle. He became more daring by traveling his thick palms up my front but trailed down again before they touch the swells of my breast. His thick tongue licked up the side of my neck and mouthed small kisses along the skin. I reached over once more and gripped onto anything that’ll give me enough distance. I held onto Mr. Shin’s crossed leg, squeezing his thigh enough to leave nail marks.
Without causing a scene, he shifted his eyes over to the rendezvous. He noticed the wild hands and could even hear the disgusting sounds coming from Yate’s grimy lips. The small trail of saliva, like a snail’s slime trail, glistened thickly from the spotlight. I let go when Yates shifted me on his lap, so I sat directly on his lumpy crotch. He lowly grinded against my ass, trying to fill every curve with himself. My face scrunched in disgust from his small chub. I attempted to lean away, but his grip on my hips was strong.
Jungkook bounced his leg and fiddled his thumb over his watch; time was going too slow. Once the auctioneer finished his intro speech, a cage emerged from the depths of the stage. The metal device raised, clanking with every turn of the rusty mechanism, and exposed the anxious panther to the arena. The panther was thin, but evidence of his once muscular stature was obvious. The hybrid crouched, stalking the host. The host mirrored by rounding about the cage, taunting the beast. The host spun to the audience, “ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the shadow of the jungle, the Panther!” The host started the auction at a low price of $350,000. Gentlemen raised their paddles and the auctioneer called out prices; slowly the bid rose. “Do I hear, $500,00? Going once, going twice…,” he searched the audience waiting for the bets to rise, but no offers were made.
Yates grumbled in my ear, cursing under his breath, the pacing was too slow for him, so he moved me out of his lap and stood up. He turned towards the audience, “that’s how you’re setting the tone for the night ladies and gentlemen? I think this show should start off with a bang! A real wow factor, who will be the brave hero and take the glory!” He waved around a glass of champagne cheering the sky awaiting a fool to spend their money. A paddle towards the back of the room raised and called out, “$800,000!” Yates swung his arm, spilling half the contents in his cup, “that’s the spirit!” He sat back down and pulled me into his lap whispered, “sucker”.
I couldn’t help it, I couldn’t take my eyes off the panther. The distress in his eyes wasn’t different from mine.  I started to lose confidence, will Jungkook chicken out and not save us? Was there really help on the way? Was this a set up?
I was taken out of my thoughts when wandering hands became more daring. His fingers traced the jewels on my stomach. He nudged at my ear with his nose, “Kitty, can you be a good girl for me?” His breath smelled heavily of alcohol and cigarettes that it was almost inhuman. I remained unresponsive, so he took my breast in both hands groping tightly. I whimpered loudly enough for the others at the table to turn, but Yates was unashamed and bravado about his action. I lowered my head, blocking my face from onlookers, this was too much. Yates released his grip when a final price was called, “sold! At 1.2 million dollars!” Yates cheered loudly and turned to Jungkook patting him on the back, “told you a million would be a piece of cake.” Jungkook smiled at Yates, who laughed like a child at a candy store, then turned to the helpless cat in the bastard’s lap. The moment I locked eyes with Mr. Shin I knew the sternness in his eyes meant more than words could ever express. Maybe it was an animal thing? Something you could feel in the air? I knew whatever it was, he was going to protect us…me.
The lights went out a second time; the tides were going to change.
The lights took longer than anticipated to come back on. The audience in the dark began to murmur. The hair on my arms rose in goosebumps. Yate called out towards the direction of the stage, “what’s the hold up?” When the lights switched back on, guards were being held in a chokehold. S.W.A.T surrounded the edges of the arena with their guns up ready at will. In the center of the arena Captain Im held the auctioneer in a chokehold. The Rottweiler kept a stoic face as he released the unconscious auctioneer, who dropped to the floor with a thud, stared straight at Yates. The Rottweiler cooed, “times up, Yates.”
Under his breath Yates muttered out, “shit.” He tossed me off his lap, unceremoniously tossed me to the floor, running away towards an escape. In a split-second reaction, I grabbed the edge of his pant leg and dragged along with him for a step before I tripped Master. Chaos ensued, masked figures ran, and guards raced towards officers. Master kicked me in the jaw and out of reflex I released with a yelping in pain. One of Mr. Shin’s associate rounded the table and helped me up. I thanked him before he left to join the rumble. Jungkook stood with his hands in his pocket and walked towards the man clawing away at the floor. He walked calmly taking a hand out of his pocket and pulled the wig off exposing his long ears. He dropped the wig and slammed his foot dead center on Yates. The rotund man grunted mumbling out, “you fucker! You set me up this whole time! Fuck you, Shin!” Jeon laughed, “sorry Yates, but not--,” Jungkook dipped when a Doberman swung at him.
Jungkook lifted same foot off Yates’s back and swung his leg round housing the guard. Yates took advantage of the distraction, taking the moment to escape. I stood off the side as I watched two Doberman’s trying to join into the fight between Jungkook and the guard. I looked around at nearby table and yanked the table cloth towards me. I pulled the iron pan, holding a lit candle, towards me dismounting the candle. I blew out the candle and following the momentum of my turn, I splashed the hot wax over the approaching guards. They howled out in pain and while they were inebriated I smashed them across the face with the pan. By the time I turned around to Jungkook, he was racing after Yates. He called back to me, “Kitty, get to safety! I’ll come for you soon!”
I looked around the room and found his associates with their wigs off, fighting against the guards. They were canines after all. The Rottweiler, at the epicenter of the riot, was deep in battle. I was off no use here, I needed to get out of the arena. Luna, Luna, Luna. I zig zagged through the tables, making way back towards the employee’s staff door. I hopped over disgruntled guards, zipping past airborne punches and ran to press up against the metal door. I stumbled into a silent, empty hallway. In the distance I could hear the shouting voices of the kitchen staff. I gathered the ends of my pleated robe into my arms and ran down the bleak hall. The fluorescent lights flashed in blimps above me. I could feel my heartbeat thrumming in my ears, pounding with each step forward. I almost skid into the wall as I turned towards the stairs. I leapt two steps at a time into the kitchen. The kitchen staff was stealing whatever they could from the Kitchen, making their way out of the estate. I made it past the thieves and ran towards the first-floor hallways.
I called out to Luna, hoping for a response amongst the sea of scattering individuals. I opened rooms calling into each, but there wasn’t an answer. I shoved on and felt my throat tightening with each unsuccessful door. I began pushing past sweaty individuals, where could she have gone? I heard an officer in the lobby call out, “all hybrids, please move to the courtyard!” No, not yet, I had to find Luna. I changed my direction and ran towards the stairs taking the right side up. I stopped on the landing momentarily looking up to the obnoxious portrait of a man whom I once called Master. My heels were becoming painful and slowing me down, so I ripped them off gripping the throat of each shoe. With all the force I could conjure up, I lunged the shoe directly at the painting, grunting with the toss. The second shoe landed in an eye, I shouted at the painting, “take that!” I picked up my robe again and continued up the stairs. I ran down the hall looking left and right, “Luna! Please, baby, come out! Where are you Luna? Luna!”
The hallway seemed to twist bringing me further into the vortex. As I approached the end of the hall I heard rustling, it was faint, but I heard it. I slowed listening in closer twisting and turning my ears to accommodate for the sound. I came closer to a storage closet and outstretched my hand holding onto the knob of the handle and depressed. A small, frightened kitten looked up at me through long coats crying out, “Mama!” I drop to my knees bringing the scrambling kitten into my embrace rocking her back and forth, “we’re going to be okay. We’re going to be okay. We’re going to be okay.”
I lost track of time, I held Luna in my arms until men in Kevlar vest approached us. “Miss, Miss?” I turned towards the voices and recognized the figures, “Miss, I’m officer Wang and this is Officer Bhuwakul. We’re here to take you to safety.” I pulled away from Luna wrapping her hand in mine lifting her up. They offered us a smile, “you’ve done well.” We followed them out of the house blinded by the flashing blue and red lights. Officers of different kinds surround vehicles apprehending different creatures that disguised themselves as humans. Two busses sat just beyond the cars, Officer Wang and Bhuwakul escorted us towards the bus. I looked towards one of the vans catching a glimpse of Mr. Shin shoving Yates into the back and slamming the door shut. Shin looked like he went for a light jog compared to the wreck that Yates was. Mistress was fighting in the holds of different officers, “I’m innocent! Let go of me you filthy mongrels! Yates, explain to them!” No one, much less Yates, bothered to give her an answer or sympathy, and just shoved her into one of the many filled police vehicles. Jungkook dusted his hands off smoothing his ears down. He turned to me, smiling for a moment, before the Rottweiler called him,” Cottontail!”
We walked towards an officer standing outside the bus doors. We waited in line watching as he took down information and gave out a temporary ID code. I pushed the kitten forward and allowed her to board first. After they took the little information I could offer, I turned to the two escorts, “thank you, truly, thank you.” I offered a smile and the tails of the officers wagged excitedly. “No problem, Miss,” maintaining professionalism they saluted trying to be serious, but their tails were a huge contrast from how serious they attempted to be. For the first time in a long time, I laughed, genuinely laughed. I boarded the bus finding my seat next to the smiling kitten. Her white ears were twitching, and I couldn’t help but mimic the slight twinge of excitement. I didn’t know what was going to happen next, but Luna wasn’t in danger anymore, and that’s all that mattered.
Last night we were taken to a hospital, before being transported to the station. Even though it took hours, all of us had a routine medical exam. The doctors were accommodating and patient with us, putting up with the hisses and thumping. With as much resources they could offer us, they handed out mismatched scrubs to wear instead of our “uniforms”. I discarded the robe and leotard as soon as I received something more appropriate to wear. As soon as I slipped on the pair of pants and shirt, I felt safe. We spent the night in a large room where some slept on beds while others slept on futons. They had nowhere else to put us for the night. If freedom awaits, one more night sleeping on the floor was nothing.
The following morning all of us were loaded back on the bus and taken to the police station. In a single file line, we shuffled towards a waiting room attached to the offices of all the unit operations. They took a hybrid, one at a time, to have an officer help dictate their future. Luna rested her head on my shoulder sleeping softly with light rises and falls to her chest. I pulled her closer when real criminals walk by in cuffs glaring at us. I stroked the back of my knuckles against her cheek to evoke a rumbling purr from her throat. She will always be precious, my little moon.
An officer walked towards the rows flipping through papers on his clipboard, “89? Is 89 here?” I raised my hand letting him know I’m here. I shook Luna slightly waking her, “it’s my turn I’ll be right back.” Her eyes opened wide, dilating to a full black, and lunged at my arm, “no! Don’t leave me!” I looked back to the officer, who’s taped his pen against the clipboard, impatiently checking his watch. “I’ll only be gone for a few seconds…,” I pleaded to her, but she wasn’t having it. In full tantrum, she played dirty by giving me those eyes weren’t possible to say no to. I caved in taking her hand in mine muttering, “the things I do for you Luna.” I walked towards the officer with my tail between my leg, “can she come along with me?” He looked back to the crowded station and sighed, “ma’am, unless she’s related, I can’t allow that.” Her grip on my hand tightened and a loud whine left her. She stomped her feet causing the officers eyebrows to scrunch in irritation, “what’s her number?” She answered for me, “88.” He bite his lip contemplating and weighing the pros and cons. I could feel the hesitation, so I pulled the sympathy card on him, “she’s my baby, please, just let her be with me.” His attitude takes a 180 and changes fast, “oh, oh, o—okay. Why didn’t you say so earlier? Go over to officer Jeon, the third desk in in the hybrid unit.”
I bowed politely to the officer in respect and lead Luna’s towards the hybrid department. The overhanging sign read out “Hybrid Unit,” so we followed to the third desk in. A man was crouched down rummaging through bottom cabinets, “excuse me…officer Jeon?” The clumsy man banged his head on an open drawer, “ouch, God, why do I keep hitting that?” He scooted and righted himself in his flimsy chair. It took a second, even blinking a few times, before I recognized him. It was Mr. Shin…. but this man wasn’t Mr. Shin? I looked him over, up and down, but I’m sure this was or should be Officer Shin. The buck stood up looming over us, but this time around with no façade introduced himself, “hello, let me introduce myself properly, I’m officer Jeon Jungkook, not Mr. Shin. It’s nice to meet you both.” I couldn’t stop staring at him. The rex rabbit’s ears stood at attention matching his brown hair. His sharp jawline was prickled by a five o’clock shadow. I couldn’t place my eyes on a single spot jumping from his doe brown eyes, buck front teeth, and scar on his cheek. It should’ve been obvious that was an alias. I offered him a smile nudging Luna to do the same babbling out, “yes, yes, it’s nice to meet you, officer Jeon.” He pointed his hand towards nearby chairs offering us both a seat, “Jungkook, Jungkook will do just fine. This must be…your daughter, right?”
I turned to Luna, who’s eyes could barely stay open, then back to officer Jeon, “No, but I take care of her as if she was. She’s my little moon…my Luna.” A smiled erupted across him, showing off his teeth to me. To him the resemblance was uncanny between the both of you, it was more shocking to hear there wasn’t a relation. He spoke lowly to me, “I’m sorry I didn’t find you immediately afterwards. I had some legalities to take care of. I want to thank you for helping.” I held up my hands and shook them in defiance, “no, no, no, I did nothing. Thank you for saving everyone.”
The love in the beautiful cat eyes was infectious. Jungkook wanted to embrace her and promise her the world. She was the sweetest and had the most courage he’s seen in any being, man or animal. Her selflessness was aweing. Despite her knowing the cold from being cradled by the devil, she still shined brighter than the sun. She was a angel walking on Earth. With adoration in his eyes, he stated proudly, “it’s my job to protect you. Don’t thank me.”
He shook the mouse of his computer waking it, “alright, let’s get this figured out.” Jungkook opened a registration form on his desktop and tabbed to the first line. One of his ears flopped carelessly, while the other stood at attention. His head swayed to a tune he hummed as he typed in generic biographic info. Officer Kim walked by with a steaming cup of joe in his hands, “morning guys…and misses.” I turned to the lab and caught myself staring a bit too long. Seeing them with their features still took me by surprise. The lab noticed and cheekily winked towards me. I looked away with a sunburnt type of blush covering my cheeks. Jungkook takes a sip of his coffee, amused at her expression, and cheers it towards his partner, “morning Yugyeom.” Jungkook sat his coffee down and while studying the screen asked, “name?” His humming stopped when there wasn’t a response. He glanced over to the blank cat as she stopped stroking her Kitten. I answered earnestly in a low tone, “I don’t have one.” To clear his tightening throat, he sipped his coffee again. Without provoking insult, he raised his eyebrows over the brim of his cup, “no name? Nothing you went by?” I shook my head slowly, “they called the cats kitty and the rabbits bunny; it was straightforward.” Anger boiled thickly within him, like molasses, rumbling along with an inner growl. He rested an elbow on the desk, running his hand through his hair to calm himself. He stuck his tongue against his inner cheek, “they didn’t give you names.” He enunciated each word pointedly. It wasn’t a question, but a statement. Yates. When he gets the chance to interrogate him, he’s going to make sure the surveillance cameras are conveniently off. Depriving someone so basic and toying with their dignity... the vile creature dares to breathe!
I shied away sensing the change in his diction. I didn’t want to be punished for not having a name. Luna whined slightly, curling towards me when I stopped petting her. Jungkook lowered his hand and softened his eyes, going back to an affable buck, “no. No, I’m not upset with you. I’m sorry. I—I just,” he couldn’t finish his statement without wanting to growl out an angry grunt. Settling his expression, he sat back biting his lip in thought. A name?
A light bulb went off in his head showing in his eyes; he turned back to his computer, typing fast. He pressed enter and sat back, he puckered his lips in disapproval and then randomized once more. He still wasn’t satisfied with the result, it didn’t suit her, so he pressed once more. This time his expression didn’t seem to strongly disagree. He twisted the edges of his desktop towards the both of you and waiting eagerly. “I used a random name generator to pick a name for you. Do you like this one?” I read the screen testing the name out in my mind different ways, “Y/N Y/L/N. Y/N Y/L/N. Y/N Y/L/N.” I had to jumble it on my tongue out loud. The more I said it, the more I liked it. A name! My very own name! A name! I nodded my head like a bobble toy, “yes, yes, I like it very, very, very much!” A short, breathy laugh left him, and for the first time you heard, “It’s nice to meet you Ms. Y/L/N.” I cheekily smiled, “Y/N would be just fine.”
It sent tingles down my spine hearing my name, my name, spoken by someone else. Luna tested it on her lips, twitching her ears at each syllable, “that’s the one Mama!” Jeon couldn’t help smiling along with this little family, unconditional love radiated between them. It was something he’s always looked for. He blinked away the giggly image in front of him and turned back to the form. He asked how old you were and other biographic information he couldn’t guess. Once he reached the end of the form, he scooted back to the filing cabinet and fished out two sets of thick documents. He placed the documents face downwards, “Y/N, regardless of what you choose you will be given an identification card along with a social security. I want you to really think over the options I’m about to give to you.”
I nodded waiting for him to continue. “You have two choices you can take from here. The first option is being assigned a shelter and awaiting adoption to another home to live out the rest of your life under a new owner.” I looked at him expectantly, letting the first option go in and out my ears, waiting for my next option. “The second option is applying for D.A.H.; D.A.H. is deferred action for hybrids. It’s a policy set up by the government to give hybrids, conditionally, a way of living life without ownership.” I lit up, that’s what I wanted! He continued placing a hand over the documents,” but there’s a catch, under D.A.H. you have to pursue education and receive a high school equivalent diploma at minimum. From there you can pursue higher education or obtain a job. It’s to provide evidence to the government that you are self-sustainable. The policy will give you a residency card and the ability to live without ownership after maintaining proficiency under the program for a few years.”
This! This was what I’ve always been looking for! I could provide a home, a way of life and stability for Luna. I couldn’t contain my happiness, “yes! Yes! This is exactly what I want!” Jungkook smiled at her enthusiasm, and slid a packet towards Y/N, but retracted suddenly. In warning, “the filing process takes about two weeks and then you will be given government housing until you find a job. In the meantime, you will be asked to stay at a shelter until you have been formally admitted into the program.” There it was…that made me hesitate for a second. I would have to live in a shelter…again. However, my first concern was, “Luna, can she apply to this program as well?” Jungkook nodded, “yes, she can. However, how old are you sweetie?” He turned to Luna who stared at the ceiling in wonder, so Y/N answered for her, “thirteen.” He filtered through the files to reassure himself, “she is still young enough to take a placement test and be admitted into regular public education. Same to earlier, she will have to keep her promise to work and better herself to maintain a residency card.”
I looked towards Luna making sure she was following along, but her eyes bolted left and right fast searching for answers. I simplified it for her, “Luna, if you sign up you can go to school. Do you want to go to school and live with me?” Her eyes lit up like stars against the night sky, and her white ears twitched excitedly, “really officer Jeon! I can go to school!” He laughed at her innocence, “yes, Luna, you can go to school.” I elaborated, “like I said, it will take a few weeks to file the paperwork, but when that’s done you can go to school, okay?” She nodded turning towards officer Jeon with the same smile. He pushed the packets towards us, “sign here…here…,” flipping the pages twice, “here…here… and done.” He picked up the documents, “all that’s left is sorting you out to a shelter for the mean time.” He scrolled through the list of shelters in the local area. He scrunched up his face thumping his one leg against the floor, “my friend runs a shelter, but there’s only one opening left. Would either of you like to go there?”
Luna stood in fright, “no, no, I can’t be without Mama. I don’t want to be alone.” Jungkook stood along with her, calming her down urging her to sit. “Okay, we’ll find a better spot.” He kept scrolling looking for a shelter that had enough openings, but the only one available was a city away. “I found one that has openings for two more.” Before selecting admit, he opened a registration form for Luna. He followed the same questions with her, “I want the last name as Mama!” Jeon turned to her with a cheeky smile, “good choice, kiddo.” He turned to me wiggling his brows as if her choice wasn’t obvious enough. He submitted the applications, transferring the information to the shelter and D.A.H. program. “I will need to mail these in physically, but the basics should be covered. The shelter will let you know when all processing has been complete. In a few weeks’ time you will be transferred to housing and start on your way to freedom Y/N.” I shifted in my seat with excitement, “thank you for all you’ve done.”
He wrote down on two sticky notes the same shelter ID number, then stood up straightening his clothing out. He shook both our hands, “the pleasure was all mine Luna…and Y/N.” He held my hand longer releasing and gliding our fingers against eachother. He pointed towards another officer, “follow Officer Wang and give him that number. He will know where to take you. Goodbye and good luck.” The golden retriever who was already waving in our direction. I didn’t want to leave so soon, but I responded none the less, “goodbye, Jungkook.” I swished my tail in happiness.
He watched as Y/N walked away with a pep in her step and Luna jumped for joy; finally something kids her age should be doing. He couldn’t help it as his smile reached his ears. His cottontail waged along with Y/N’s white, long tail. Officer Kim left his desk and came over to Jeon’s desk, sitting on the edge playing with paper weights. “God, will you stop with the googly eyes? I feel like I always catch you staring at women.” Jungkook scoffed at the lab, “I just care about my victims.” Yugyeom rolled his eyes, “sure, sure, just like that time you kissed that lawyer, right?” Jungkook sputtered out his spit, “that was conditional! Besides, she’s a close friend and it meant nothing. Mostly importantly, I can’t come in between that thing she’s got going on with Taehyung.” Yugyeom was taken aback, “there’s something go on between them?” Jungkook shrugs, “not explicitly, but it’s hard to ignore the way Taehyung looks at her and he asks every opportunity he gets what we talk about.”
Humming in though Yugyeom changed the subject, pointing to the now empty waiting room, ”what shelter they get?” Jungkook looked towards his best friend, “Riverwood County Shelter.” Officer Kim almost dropped the weight, “recent reports came out from there with abuse claims. They’re still under investigation, but with the way--.” Yugyeom couldn’t finish his statement, Jungkook was already rounding the corner. He ran, pumping his thick thighs as fast as he could, channeling his agility to reach Y/N as fast as possible. By the time he made it outside the buses were already out of the parking lot. He runs his hands in his hair in frustration. He didn’t have any jurisdiction once she was gone. He would have to keep tabs on them until they get sectioned into housing. As he watched nothing he asked himself over and over again how he could have not known. He can’t let them go through that again, never again.
We boarded a small bus with a few other familiar faces. The journey was about an hour and forty-five minutes from the station. The area slowly turned from cityscape to a forest, then a suburban town. It had a true quaint, home town feel. The bus stopped in front of a white building somewhere in the center of the town. The seven of us evacuated being welcomed by a few staff members. They went through roll call calling and accounting for us. The disinterest in their tone was alarming, but I passed it off as exhaustion.
We followed them through the entrance into a hallway, they then further divided the males and females. The males were taken to a different ward on the opposite side. We, the four of us, followed a staff member into a large room with rows of bunkbeds along the walls. They asked us to pick our own beds that weren’t already taken. As a typical teenager Luna chose a top bunk. I preferred to be on the bottom anyways, I needed to be grounded. This place reminded me too much of our last home. Luna was too young to remember that place, but I will never forget.
The staff member called us to stand at attention near the edge of our beds. “Ladies, you’ll find your pant and shirt set folded at the end of your bed. I will come around giving each of you a bracelet. If you’re a D.A.H. applicant, make sure you get the blue bracelet.” She stopped at each hybrid typing information on a tablet and printed to a sticker instantly. She pulled out a tamper resistant snap ID band and stuck the ID sticker onto the band. We were officially branded and tagged like cattle. The staff member was smart enough to locked it around the non-dominant hand. We were the only ones to have blue bands in our group. This was going to be a long two weeks.
The first week at the shelter wasn’t easy. I was often confused and mistook the shelter staff like I was living at the estate. The female staff was cattier than the cat hybrids themselves. Whenever I noticed a staff member harassing a hybrid, I stepped in mediating the situation. I would pull the hybrid away from the situation as calmly as possible. They often looked at me with a glare, but they didn’t know the taste of leather. I would often find myself watching from the two-way window in the interior hallway, peering into the “play room” at the hybrids to be adopted. I watched the children and adults congregate in the same room and observe as spectators would come by picking from the crop. In my short time here, I found out there was more green and only few blue bracelet holders. This made me stand by and watch the others. I would wonder, would that be a better option? Should I have chosen that life for myself and Luna again? Would I be happier? Somedays a few would leave, other days no one left. Luna came up behind me, squeezing me in a back hug, “Mama, what are you doing?” I looked at her and cupped her face rotating my thumb on the apples of her cheek, “nothing, my love. Let’s go back to our room, okay?” The innocent light within her never dimmed, even if the ones around her grew darker.
That night I couldn’t sleep, in fact I couldn’t sleep well ever since we’ve arrived. I tossed and turned in my bunk. Out of frustration I got up, sitting in my narrow bed. Everyone else was asleep, so I tipped toed towards the door and cracked it open. I needed a distraction. We weren’t allowed up to wander at night, so I stayed within the shadows. I listened and watched the hallway; stilling all my movements except to twist and turn my ears to listen for life. I closed the door further when I heard footsteps nearing. I left a sliver open and leaned my ear against the door eavesdropping into the soft murmur of the voices. “When is the order due?” A male voice asked, causing the other half of the pair to pause. “Soon, by tomorrow morning the latest. We won’t have enough hybrids to adopt out to the customer, so I’m thinking we can change some of the blues to green. It’s just a few hybrids, no one cares about them.” They laughed nudging the other, “you’re right; file it tonight then.”
I slumped to the floor as they rounded the corner. It was happening again. My eyes narrowed, ears flattened, and my tail curled around my waist. But not again, not this time, not ever. I rotated the bracelet around to the snaps and pulled and pulled making my wrist blister red until the plastic snapped. I tossed it under someone’s bed and jogged softly towards Luna. I climbed the short ladder and shook her awake whispering harshly, “wake up, Luna, wake up.” I couldn’t take everyone with me, so I had to get away and find help. She blinked lazily towards me, “Mama? What’s wrong?” I shushed her and climbed down. Over the banister I tossed her slip-on canvas shoes, and slipping mine on as quietly as possible, “put these on.” She put them on obediently, but still waited for me to answer her, “Mama, what’s going on?” I shushed her again and helped her climb down the ladder reducing sound as much as possible. I looked her in the eyes, “we have to leave, now.” Her eyes widened, “what’s wrong?” I shook my head, “later, just follow me.” I could tell she had a million questions, but there wasn’t time for that. We had to get out of here, and fast. The night staff were few compared to the regular day staff, so this was our only chance.
I pulled her behind me, tightening my sweaty hand in hers creeping towards the door again. During my time here, I’ve learned the hallways and the spaces of frequency; old habits die hard. I waited again for a second passing of the night watch. Once they rounded the corner and the steps were far enough, we crept into the hallway sticking to the wall. We edged closer to the main lobby, hiding in dark shadows of allowing staff to pass. Receptionist sat at the front desk, one of them was already asleep and the other had her face buried in a novel munching on treats. I was banking on their indifference to the world around them. The front door was right here!
I turned to Luna holding my finger up to my lip and pointed towards the door. She nodded and wrapped her tail around her waist tightly like mine. We crouched, creeping, step by step along the curve of the front desk. The front door was less than ten steps away, but it felt like a million miles away. I peeked over the edge of the desk making sure the two were still fully distracted and crouched again when the coast was clear.
With a silent deep breath, I held onto that and crept forward, fast and calculated towards freedom. I pushed the door open letting Luna go through first and looked back to make sure we still were in the clear. I crab walked out the door through the small crack out into the cold of the night. I allowed the door to close holding it carefully with two hands, but it wasn’t silent. It dinged close. My heart dropped, so I abandoned stealth and grabbed Luna’s hand and ran into the night. I caught a brief glimpse of the receptionist dropping her book in shock pointing towards us, “Stop right there!”
It wasn’t long before I heard the barking of hounds following us and sirens. We had to get away, we’re not livestock! We ran through the empty streets passing by neon illuminated store front signs. The small, suburban downtown ended after a few blocks, falling into a residential area. I pulled Luna with me towards a home, jumping over the fence into someone’s back yard. I figured it would be harder to chase if they had to go through obstacles. We hoped over a few more fences, trailing through different yards, and ended up on another side street. There was a dense tree line just beyond the homes, so I yelled to Luna, “Luna, keep running baby. Don’t slow down okay!” In pants she mumbled out a sound similar to yes and kept towards the forest.
We kept moving forward driven by the sounds of the dogs. Our feet tripped and slipped every now then, but our momentum and will was stronger. My heart was beating so fast, all sounds just blended and rang into a high pitch white noise. To our side we could see the flickering of flashlights in the distance, so I clenched my teeth harder and thrusted with all my might. We ran and ran until we passed a patch of mud. I stopped Luna asking her to follow my lead. I ripped her badge with my trembling hands. Our thin, canvas scrubs carried our scents, if we leave them here we can gain an advantage. When we were fully stripped, I buried the contents under some tree foliage. The air was crisp against our nude bodies, but it would help mislead the hounds. I picked up mud and began rubbing it all over her then myself haphazardly. This wouldn’t help for long, but it was something. Luna’s scent was dulled to my sensitive nose. I grabbed her hand again and began running again. My thighs screamed in protest, but this was something that quickly became secondary. The further into the forest the frantic sounds became nothing more than a distant echo. We slowed when the sounds were silent and the only thing we could hear, and smell was ourselves. I searched around our standing for something to act like a shelter. In search I noticed a rock configurated that had a small cave. I lead her into the cavern after checking for any dangers and held Luna close to me. We were both panting and trembling. I cupped over our mouths attempting to silence our breathes. I pet her head in comfort. My muscles ached from overuse and lungs felt like they were on fire. I waited and waited for hours for the hounds and pound officers, but none came by.
I slumped to the floor carrying Luna with me. She was already fast asleep on my chest, so I shifted carefully. I found sleep difficult, waking up at every small sound. When day broke, I watched for a while, until the sun was in the sky. We eased out of the cave inspecting our surroundings. Luna finally ask me through a groggy voice, “why are we running Mama?” Without looking back, “they wanted to sell us again.” She remains silent but caught up to me sliding her hand in mine. She whispered, “I love you, Mama.” I smiled choking back the knot in my throat, “forever and always.”
We walked for miles and through the trees we noticed a cabin. Behind the cabin clothes hung on a clothes line fresh laundry filling the area with fresh aromas. We hid behind trees watching for any sign of life in the windows. When I noticed no movement I commanded, “stay here. I’ll get us some clothes.” She whined but let go of my hand to cling to the oak tree. I stepped towards the house watching carefully, stayed light on my toes. The dried mud on my skin made my moves rigid, but gave me some camouflage.
I crept through a dead garden and came up to the drying laundry. I unhooked a damp, long shirt, I was able to smell the male owner still on it and looked for anything else to fit. I heard the backdoor creak open and an older woman stepped out. She dropped her basket and uttered, ”oh! Oh my, hello.” I stepped back hissing at her clutching the once clean shirt to my dirty body. In a calm, collected voice, “I mean no harm, dear. I want to help you. Don’t run, please.” I didn’t trust her and just kept creeping backwards stepping over dead vegetation. She began, “I—I once had a daughter named Aure. She was like you, a shifter…but she’s been gone for a while. I can’t sit back and do nothing about it again. My husband is gone. Let me help you.” I paused, mulling over her words. She had someone like us. Maybe, we could trust her. I relaxed a bit straightening up from my hunched position. I looked towards Luna and the older woman clues in, “oh, you have a friend?” I didn’t respond, but she nods anyways, “they’re more than welcome to come as well.”
Luna emerged from behind the tree coming to cling to me. I turned to the old woman,” can we please get some clothing and we’ll be on our way?” She scrunches her brows, “that’s nonsense. You must wash up first, then I will give you something to wear.” I hesitated, but Luna was trembling violently from the cold. I couldn’t let her get sick. I complied then, “okay, thank you.” She led us into the empty house directing us towards the bathroom. I’ve never smelled this heavenly combination of cinnamon and vanilla before, somehow, it felt like home; even if I never knew what that was like, I just knew. “Let me take that shirt from you dear, I will put fresh clothing outside the door for you both. Aure left some clothing here, I’m sure you’ll fit her stuff, so collect it when you’re done.” I nodded to her waiting for the moment of change in her, but it never came. I offered another thank you and slipped into the bathroom. I even locked the door to ease my conscious.
We showered together ensuring that every last bit of mud went down the drain, and as promised fresh clothes was outside the door. We walked into the living room where the older woman was knitting happily. We stood a bit away, and I told her, “thank you, we’ll be going now.” She tsked to herself stopping her fast pace technique, “eat before you leave. I’m not letting you go knowing I didn’t feed you.” Luna’s and my stomach growled giving away our stance on leaving easily. She laughed and pointed with a knitting needle, “I prepared some sandwiches, please feel free to eat them they’re on the table.”
We meandered over and sniffing the sandwiches for anything strange, but when there was nothing alarming. Both of us chow down like vacuum cleaners. The four sandwiches turned into nothing , not even crumbs. The older woman shuffled into the dining area, “I like it when a woman can eat.” She sits next to us and Luna thanked the woman for her kindness personally, twitching her ears and purring lightly. I bowed politely to her, “thank you so much.” She waves her hand to us,” if you thank me one more time honey, you’re going to run out of thanks to give. Now tell me, where are you both heading?” I sit and think about it, “I don’t know exactly… I know we want to go to the police station in the city? We need to talk to an officer there, he can help us.” She nodded in thought, carefully listening to each word, “my husband is out on a fishing trip with friends, I can give you a ride to the city. It’s not that far.” My eyes bulged, “oh, no, that would be too much.” She scowls, “no, I insist, give this old woman a reason to have an adventure, dear.” Luna smiled and laughed, the older woman laughed along with her pinching Luna’s cheeks. Luna asked, “ma’am, what is your name?” The older woman wrinkles deepened and her smile lines extended softly, “call me Nana.”
It isn’t long before Nana has us in the cabin of the pickup truck. Luna sat in the middle chatting away with Nana as we drove to the city. Once Luna fell asleep on my shoulder, the she spoke candidly, “she must be special to you?” With a hum I cooed, “yes, she’s my daughter.” The older woman hummed back in approval, “children are a blessing…you don’t have to answer, but why were you out there?” I remained silent watching the tree pass by rapidly and stared at the random shapes of the clouds in the dark sky. As I watched the world flash by, “I was owned by the devil for years and I was rescued. The shelter we were at temporarily…they wanted to sell us off again.” Again, the older woman hummed in though mumbling off, “I hope Aure found somewhere were she belongs.” I didn’t know who Aure may be, but I sympathize, if I lost Luna it would be the end of me.
The rest of the ride was quiet except for the dull voice of the radio announcer. The tree line slowly turned into cityscape. The buildings we passed by a week ago all become familiar again. The older woman drove until she reached the parking lot of the downtown station. She parked in pick up/drop off section. I woke Luna, “love, we’re here, wake up.” The small Kitten stirred awake mumbling and wiped drool off her chin. I turned to our host, who had adoration in her eyes, “thank you for everything. I don’t know how I’ll be every able to repay you.” Not changing her expression, “you don’t ever have to. Live well and that’ll be enough for me.” Luna hugged her, “thank you Nana.” I opened the rusted door allowing us both to hit concrete. We watched until she rounded the corner and bracing ourselves for the worst walked towards the entrance of the station. I clenched Luna’s hand tightly in mine. I wasn’t sure if it was for her, or myself. I knew one thing and one things only: we needed to find officer Jeon.
We walked up the steep steps melting into the bustle of the station after reading a directory. We rounded a corner, flowing into a hallway that opened up to the busy office. In each department police men and women were chanting back and forth, and of course the burnt-out officers slept at their desk. I read the overhanging signs as we walked past the others. I smelled them before we read the familiar words: Hybrid Unit. I led Luna towards the desk, where hybrids were hard at work at their desk. Officer Wang looks up first from his computer and did a double take when he saw us both, “Kitties? What are you doing here?” His call interrupted everyone watching as pairs of eyes fell on the both of you in succession. My eyes land on the handsome buck.
I wanted to stay strong, but I couldn’t do it anymore. I started crying letting the tears blur my vision, finally letting it all go. All officers approach, but one particular bunny shoved his way through and engulfed me in a tight hug. I sobbed into the chest of the bunny and his hand eased up and down my back to comfort. His warmth reminded me of how I felt at NaNa’s home. He looked over to Luna, “are you okay kiddo?” She nodded tearing up herself hiccupping slightly. He looked over to the team, “guys, can you take care of her for a bit?” Officer Wang and Kim went into action and escorted her towards their desk. He keeps soothing me whispering soft coos of safety and it’s all going to be okay. When my sobs died down, he asked in a rush, “Y/N, what’s wrong? Why are you here? Why are you not at the shelter?”
I pulled away from the bunny with my ears flat, I couldn’t speak yet. I stared straight ahead and noticed his shirt was stained with my tears. “I’m sorry about your shirt, I didn’t—I didn’t mean—,” I rambled on not quite aware of the question he asked. He shakes my shoulders a bit, “Y/N, it’s fine, but why, why are you here?” I look up at him with rosy cheeks and dark circles, “they, they wanted to sell us too. They said that they didn’t have enough, so we were going too.” I begin sobbing halfway through the confession. Jungkook brought me into his embrace again, tighter than before. His ears dropped against this head. He knew he should’ve pursued it further, he should’ve never let any of you leave. He hugged you tighter yet, “I’m sorry Y/N. I really am, I’m so, so sorry.”
He lets you cry it out until you don’t have any tears left and are just dry heaving. He didn’t think he’d ever see the sun dim, but today there were clouds and rain. He sat you in front of his desk asking you to wait a second. He reports to his Captain, letting him know they can’t wait on those claims anymore. Captain Im nods along then comes over to you, he crouched down to my level and sweetly spoke, “I’m very sorry that happened to you Ms. Y/L/N. I promise that our team will do everything in our power to prevent anything like that from happening again. For tonight, we will direct you and Luna to another shelter.” My eyes widen looking towards Jungkook, who placed a hand on my shoulder reassuringly, “don’t worry Y/N. This time it’ll be different.”
I stand up knocking the chair over with a crack in my voice, “how will it be different? I don’t think the next time it’ll be different. Those people are all the same!” Jungkook tried to reason with me, but I didn’t want reason, I wanted justice. His foot thumped lightly and grinded his teeth. The last thing he wanted was for you to feel unsafe. His bunny ears loose some of their spunk, “Y/N, this is a promise. My friend, he can take you in! Remember, I tried sending you there last time? He’s a hybrid himself. He owns a shelter.” The Rottweiler raised his brows at Cotton tail’s bold claim but shrugged letting him dig his own grave.
I relaxed a bit, a hybrid and a shelter owner? The Rottweiler stood up patting my shoulder, “not all humans are terrible and not all beings are either. We promise Ms. Y/L/N, we will take care of you.” I’m left with Jungkook, who was still grinding his teeth. In embarrassment I lowered my head, “I’m sorry for my behavior.” I curled my tail around me, making myself smaller any way possible. His teeth stopped chattering and he approached me with a raised hand and out of instinct I winced. He pet my head gently raking his hands against my scalp, an unexpected long purr escaped my throat. I choked back in embarrassment, but he laughed letting go, “Y/N, please, I will protect you.”
I wanted him to keep petting me. I stared at his hand waiting for more, but it never came as he rounded his desk. I whined softly, and his ears twitched at the sound, “are you hurt Y/N?” I snap out of my want for affection, blushing violently, and shook my head in a no. Jungkook stared a moment too long, he wanted to pet her longer. To feel her snow-white ears between his fingers and teach you that there is more to life. They looked so soft, like clouds. He looked at the clock, “I’ll give my friend a call and get you a place to stay there. For the meanwhile, stay in the station. Would you like to sleep in a cell? It’ll give you and Luna some privacy.” My eyes water slightly again, I didn’t want to stay in a cell again, “can we please just stay in the waiting room? I don’t want to sleep in a cell anymore.” That broke his heart. Jungkook looked away from you for a moment, re-centering himself. He may be a strong, tough person, but this was chipping away at him. It felt like everything he was doing for you was wrong. He nodded towards you and glimpsed towards a giggling Luna with a smile, “yes, you can. I’ll check up on you frequently. We’ll go in the morning.” He stood with you holding out his pinky. I tilted my head in confusion examining his hand, “is something wrong with your hand officer Jeon?” He was a bit taken a back then laughed, “hold out your hand too, just like mine.” I complied even though his request was odd. He laced his pinky with mine locking the hold, “this is a pinky promise. This is something you can’t ever break, no matter what. This is my promise to you Y/N. I will protect you.” I smiled and tightened my pinky in his, “it’s a promise Jungkook.”
I let Luna play with the officers until she got bored. I leaned up against a wall closing my eyes trying to find some peace. Officer Kim and came over with Luna fiddling with some paper origami. I sat up straight, blinking away the tiredness and outstretched my arms to receive the happy-go-lucky kitten. She fell into place, “Mama, look I made a flower, do you like it?” I hummed and groggily replied, “you really made that all on your own?” She shook her head, “no, officer Tuan showed me how. He has a lot around his desk.” I pet her head and turned towards the officers, “thank you for watching her.” Officer Kim’s tail was wagging, “no problem, I like having her around, please come by more often.” I laughed ruffling her hair, she has them wrapped around her finger. Officer Jeon spoke up, “Y/N, we will be out for a bit. When I come back, l’ll take you to your new temporary home.” I nodded genuinely wishing, “be safe.” Jungkook’s ears came to life saluting Y/N as they walked away. Kim pulled Jungkook under his arm locking him in place giving him a well-deserved knucklehead sandwich. I could hear echoes of laughter chiming. It brought me comfort knowing that they guard the city.
I woke up in an awkward position crinkled into a make shift pretzel with Luna using my lap as a pillow. I opened my eyes as a casually dressed officer Jeon approached us. “Morning sleepy heads. Here, eat this before we leave.” I mumbled back something similar to a greeting and took the breakfast sandwiches from him. I wake Luna handing her a sandwich. Jungkook watched you with a onset grin on his face as you waited for Luna to eat first before you did. After a good bite I asked him, “did you eat?” He stopped mid gulp of his coffee, not expecting that question. “Oh, I’m fine I already ate,“ in fact he ate two for himself. I eyed him skeptically but ate continuously, not completely willing to let go of my meal. He almost choked again at Y/N’s cute side eye. This cat would be the death of him.
Once everyone was ready to go, the brigade waved you all off asking you to visit them, especially Luna. Jungkook let me ride next to him in the passenger seat. I looked around taking in the millions of gadgets like a child in a candy shop. He drove off complete amused. It took twenty minutes to reach the shelter because of traffic. This time around it looked like a home rather than an industrial building repurposed. Everything about the place felt inviting. Jungkook parked allowing us to follow him to the entrance. The estate was large with four floors and a yard. Jungkook neared the receptionist introducing himself and asking for a man named “Jin.” The woman directed you all out to the backyard. Jungkook waved his hand signaling us to follow him. His tail was swishing back in forth through a cut in his skinny jeans.
The sun was blinding as I walked hand in hand with Luna out the back doors. They weren’t metal, but a friendly, white door, the type you see in homes. Jungkook turned back to me smiling, “he should be just around here.” I followed behind the buck, stepping with caution, Luna always slightly behind my back. I walked off the cement trailing through lush, green grass towards a jungle gym. Children screamed about in delight swinging, climbing, sliding all around in happiness. Even when one of them tripped they still carried a wide grin on their face helping the fallen one up. The buck suddenly picked up speed towards one of the adults, lighting up, “Jin! Jin!” The tall, broad shouldered man turned around exposing his round, brown ears in the typical brown bear fashion. Two sugar gliders hung off his arms giggling as they roamed around him, climbing him like a tree. He tried to calm them, but they kept whizzing around him like cars on a racetrack. Despite the chaos, he seemed to be used to their antics. Jungkook got closer to the bear, “hyung, I brought your newest guest.” Jin turned to us, the apprehension in my eyes sticking out like a sore thumb, smiling beautifully. “Hello, welcome home.”

Through Time and Space: The Daemons Part 1
Hey guys!  Here’s the surprise!  I decided to post an extra chapter of Through Time and Space for the year!  I didn’t give you one last week, so here’s a chapter for you!  I hope you enjoy it!
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: 3rd Doctor x Reader
Warnings: Violence
_______________________________________________________________________
When I awoke again, I was in a bed somewhere I didn't recognize. I must be with an early regeneration. I went over to the desk that was in the room to see some papers that had U.N.I.T stuff on it. I must be at U.N.I.T. I knew the Doctor had been a part of U.N.I.T at one time or another. I walked out and saw a soldier walking by. "Excuse me." The soldier stopped and looked at me. "Do you know where I can find the Doctor?"
"Oh, yes Ms. Foster. He's in the garage." He was about to leave.
"Can you point me to the garage? I have forgotten how to get there."
"You just go down that hallway, turn left, and you'll see a door that says garage on it."
"Thank you!" I said leaving to head that way. I got to the door soon enough and found the Third Doctor and Jo in the garage working on old Bessie. I smiled vaguely reading about that car.
"But it really is the dawning of the age of Aquarius." Jo said.
"So?" The Doctor asked. I smiled.
"Well, that means the occult. Well, you know, the supernatural and all that magic bit."
"So does that make me the queen?" I asked making my presence known. "My sign is Aquarius." I said going over to the Doctor. He smiled and kissed me on the cheek.
"You're always a queen."
"You're too sweet." I said blushing. I went over and stood next to Jo.
"You know, really, Jo, I'm obviously wasting my time trying to turn you into a scientist. At least Kate had some knowledge when we first met."
"Well, how do you know there's nothing in it?" Jo asked.
"How? Well, I just know, that's all. Everything that happens in life must have a scientific explanation. If you know where to look for it, that is. Right, Kate?"
"Well, I think that a lot of things can be explained, but there is still a lot that can't be explained. I'm not throwing out the idea of magic." I said.
"You and that book series. You're obsessed." He said getting back to work.
"Yes, but suppose something was to happen and nobody knew the explanation. Well, nobody in the world, in the universe. Well, that would be magic, wouldn't it?" Jo asked. I nodded my head.
"You know, Jo, for a reasonably intelligent young lady, you do have the most absurd ideas." Just then Bessie started up and drove off. I didn't know she could do that. It doesn't surprise me that she could.
"Doctor, look!" Jo exclaimed. Bessie drove around the yard and came back. I just laughed.
"Bessie, how dare you go gallivanting around like that." The Doctor said. The car honked. 'Are you sorry?" She honked again. "Very well, I forgive you. Now go back to your parking place before I change my mind." She reversed out of the garage and went to I guess wherever the Doctor wanted her.
"Don't be too hard on the car." I said.
"I can't just have her driving around by herself." He said. Just then a man I think his name was Yates came in.
"I know there's a good explanation for all this, but I just can't think of it for the moment." He said.
"Would you believe magic?" The Doctor asked.
"Magic?" The man asked confused.
"Hmm."
"No!" The man exclaimed.
"Well, Jo and Kate would."
"That's not fair." Jo said.
"Okay, I agree with Jo there again, and you can't make fun of the queen." I said.
"Well, you explain it then." The Doctor said turning toward us.
"I don't know. I suppose you did it." Jo said.
"I know you did something, Doctor. Considering you have a time machine, this doesn't surprise me." I said.
"Naturally or should I say scientifically. Solenoids and a solar mechanism in Bessie and-" He took a box out of his pocket. "A radio control unit here. You see how easy it is to be a magician?"
"How infuriating can you get." Jo said.
"Oh honey, you haven't seen the worst of it." I said. The Doctor gave me a look. "Hey, I will eventually see every regeneration. You're all different."
"Wait, how many times have you seen this face?" He asked suddenly getting very interested in our adventures.
"This is actually the first time I've seen this face. It's the third adventure I've been on." I laughed. "That's really ironic."
"You're still very new at this then. This is Yates by the way. I know he's met you. Well, a much older you." I was right! "This is also Jo, which you seem to recognize. You always know my companions before I do." There was silence.
"Okay back to your car, it doesn't prove anything."
"Would you like me to show you some more then?"
"No thanks, I've had enough of your knavish tricks. I don't know how Kate does it sometimes."
"I zone out a lot." The Doctor gives me another look.
"Anyway, I want to see that TV program. Mike, would you give me a life?" Jo asked turning to Yates.
"Sure." He said.
"Oh, I want to go!" I said.
"You can go to." Yates said.
"You coming, Doctor?" I asked. He looked a little sad.
"Coming where?" He asked.
"Well, to see that program." Yates stated.
"Oh, not you too, Captain Yates? First my companion, then my wife, and now you."
"Oh, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Very exciting. Forecasts of doom and disaster if anyone disturbs the burial chamber."
"That sounds fun." The Doctor shook his head.
"Captain Yates, you astound me."
"Well, you never know. Devil's End has a funny reputation."
"What did you say?" The Doctor asked getting suddenly interested.
"Devil's End. The village near the dig."
"Devil's End? Devil's End?" The Doctor said looking at me like I'm supposed to know something. I just shrugged. I had no idea what I was in for.
"Doctor, are you all right?" I asked.
"Yes. Yes, I'm fine." We went out into the yard, and I was surprised the Doctor followed us.
"Now where are you going?" Yates asked.
"To see that TV program, of course." He said grabbing my hand. He's nervous. He has a bad feeling about it. Me and the Doctor got into Bessie, while Yates and Jo got in a U.N.I.T vehicle. We drove to another U.N.I.T place which looks more homey. There were bunk beds, a table, a phone, soda machine, and a tv. There was a guy sitting and watching something on the TV.
"Has it started yet?" Jo asked.
"Shush." The guy said. I looked to the Doctor to tell me who he was.
"Benton." He whispered into my ear. I nodded. "Let's see what he has to say."
"Has remained an enigma, but tonight, the enigma will be solved." The guy just went on and on about the place. He talked about there being treasure and why it was on this exact day.
"Beltane, of course." The Doctor said like it was obvious. Then they started talking about the legends of the place. Apparently there was a curse on it. "You know, there's something dreadfully wrong here." I nodded.
"Hey, you really mean that, don't you?" Jo said getting scared.
"I don't know. Aquarius? The Devil's Hump? Beltane?" The guy kept talking. "Come on, think, think!"
"Doctor, look. Something's going on." Benton said. Then an older lady came on and tried to attack the professor guy.
"Get your hands off me, young man! Let me go!" She said.
"Okay, Harry." The interviewer said.
"I've come here to protest, and protest I shall."
"Now this is Miss Hawthorne, a prominent local resident who's very much opposed to Professor Horner's dig. Professor Horner, I believe you two have already met?" "I'll say. The daft woman's been pestering me for weeks." The professor said. "I've been trying to make you see reason." She said frustrated. "Miss Hawthorne, why are you so opposed to this dig?" The interviewer asked. "Because this man is tampering with forces he does not understand." She said pointing at the professor. "Oh, come on now." The professor said obviously annoyed. "You'll bring destruction on yourself and upon the whole area if you persist. Death and disaster await you. Believe me, I know." "But that's just it. Why should we believe you and how do you know?" The interviewer asked. "I'm a witch." I was surprised the woman said that on TV. Some people would think she's crazy and the others would try and have her killed. "You see? I told you she was daft." The professor said. "Miss Hawthorne, you don't really mean to say-" The interviewer said probably thinking the same thing I was. "I tell you I'm a witch! White, of course, but that is why you should listen to me. I know!" She said. "Well, thank you very much, Miss Hawthorne, for a most interesting-" "I've cast the runes. I've consulted the talisman of Mercury. It's written in the stars. When Beltane is come, tread softly, for lo, the prince himself is nigh. And tonight is Beltane." "You see? Mad as a hatter." I really didn't like this professor guy. "The prince?" The interviewer asked slightly interested. "The Prince of Evil, the Dark One, the Horned Beast."
"Come on, Kate, Jo." The Doctor said grabbing my hand again as he turned to leave.
"Where to?" I asked. Jo started moving as well.
"Devil's End, of course. That woman is perfectly right. We've got to stop that lunatic before it's too late." We left and got into Bessie. We made it to Devil's End by nightfall. We somehow ended up just standing on a road trying to figure out to get to where this place is. We couldn't figure out how to get there. "It's no good, we're hopelessly lost." The Doctor said. I sighed.
"I can't understand it. We followed the sign posts all right." Jo said.
"Well, if we had, we would have been there by now. You must have missed one." I knew I couldn't navigate very well, so Jo was the one who was navigating.
"I did not!" She exclaimed.
"If you look at the map the right way up, we might eventually get there. Now, which way is it?" He said trying to look at the map.
"Er, that way." She said pointing left. I sighed in my head. You always turn left.
"Thank you very much." We drove off again. We finally got to Devil's End. We decided to try and find someone at a bar to help us get to the Devil's Hump.
"Sorry, sir. Well past time." The bartender said when we walked in.
"That's quite all right. We don't want a drink, just the directions to the Devil's Hump."
"Where the dig is." Jo said.
"Ah, you're going up there are you? It's all on telly, you know." He said.
"Yes, yes, I know, but would you please tell us the way? This is very urgent." The Doctor said getting impatient. I guess some things never change.
"Always in such a hurry, you town folk. All be the same in a hundred years time, sir."
"I can assure you, sir, it will be no such thing."
"Are you one of these television chaps then?" Another guy in the bar asked.
"I am no sort of chap, sir." The Doctor said getting defensive.
"Forgive me, but I thought. Well, the costume and the wig, you know?"
"Wig?" I chuckled slightly.
"What do you want to go up the Hump for anyway?" Yet another guy asked.
"Look, there is no time for all these unnecessary questions."
"All the time in the world, sir." The first guy said.
"I want to go up to the Devil's Hump because I want to stop that lunatic Professor of yours from bringing devastation upon you all."
"Huh. One of Miss Hawthorne's brigade." That's her name! The second guy leaves after that.
"Is nobody here capable of answering a perfectly simple enquiry? What's the matter with you all?" The Doctor asked getting mad.
"You're making all the fuss, old man." Wow, this guy is pushing it.
"Fuss? I've never heard such balderdash in all-" I chuckled slightly at the weird word.
"Doctor, look, could you please tell us the way?" Jo asked.
"Yes, certainly. Straight past the green outside, fork left, straight up the rise, and you can't miss it." The third guy finally said.
"Excellent. Thank you very much." The Doctor said.
"Thank you. Goodbye." Jo said. I just nodded to the men and followed the Doctor as we left. We got into Bessie and started driving when we had to stop because there was a tree in the road blocking our way. We got out and tried to move it, but it wasn't going to move.
"It's no good, we're just wasting time. Come on, if we run, we'll just make it." I sighed. We started running. I still have to get used to the running. We made it just at midnight. "Stop! Stop that dig! Stop it!" The Doctor exclaimed as we got to the Devil's Hump. "Stop! Don't pull that stone! Don't!" He said as he tried to pull the professor away. The stone fell forward and knocked the professor down. A huge blast came out and started demolishing a lot of things outside. I swear I could hear laughing coming from somewhere. "Doctor! Are you all right?" That's when I noticed they seemed to be out cold. That was also when the roof to the tunnel started caving in. "Doctor! No! Doctor! Oh no!" Jo exclaimed as we had made our way to where the professor and the Doctor had been. Me, Jo, and the TV crew hurriedly cleared the soil from the Doctor and the professor. They were freezing cold. The Doctor didn't look like he was regenerating, so he's still alive. I sighed. I didn't want to have to deal with a regeneration this early on. Jo looked at me like I was crazy.
"Look at him! Please, hurry! Please hurry!" Jo exclaimed getting really worried.
"He's not dead, trust me." I whispered into her ear. She looked at me still frantically, but she sighed knowing I was probably right. I looked back at the Doctor, who was covered in ice. It's going to take him a while to recover from that. We took him back to the bar to bring him back, but no one believed that he was still alive.
"He's gone too." The bartender said taking one look at the Doctor.
"No. No, he can't be! Look, we must get a doctor!" Jo said trying to make the man see that the Doctor is still alive.
"Look, the Doctor is still alive, so can you just go get a doctor?" I asked getting in the man's face.
"Look, loves, face it. They've had it." He said.
"But there must be a doctor in the village or somewhere!" Jo said. I gave the man a look. The bartender sighed.
"Charlie, can I have word with you a minute?" He asked. They walked off and were gone for about fifteen minutes. I went back over to the Doctor to see if I could get some of this ice off. "Charlie'll take him down now." The bartender said coming back with Charlie. Me and Jo sighed.
"Thank you. Doctor! Doctor, please!" Jo said grabbing his hand. Charlie came over and moved him to a room in the bar. I took a seat next to the Doctor, while Jo put some blankets on him.
"He's going to be fine. He just has to." I said grabbing his hand. Jo sat on the other side of the Doctor.
"You seem so confident." She said.
"Well, there's one thing that would indicate that he's dying, and he's not doing it. He can't be completely dead. He just can't be." I said. The human doctor came in and started checking the Doctor over. He straightened back up and looked straight at me.
"Too late, I'm afraid. He's gone, just like the Professor." My heart stopped. Was I supposed to do something that I didn't do? Am I never going to see the Doctor again. Am I only going to have the two adventures we had. Did I mess up time and space? I was afraid of talking in fear of falling apart.
"No. No, he can't be dead." Jo said. She got out what I couldn't.
"I'm sorry." He said putting a hand on my shoulder. I couldn't look at the man.
"Oh, please, you must do something!" Jo said.
"I can't work miracles, you know. He's very nearly a solid block of ice."
"Oh, there, there. I'm sorry, my dears, there's nothing we can do."

Just Yours - Chapter Twenty-Two
Chapter Twenty-Two - Decisions
A/N: OOOOOOOOH! I hope you are all as excited as I am about these next few chapters. This is definitely left on a cliffhanger, so try not to hate me too much! Let me know if you want to be tagged, and please let me know what you think! This chapter is centered around that Chicago P.D. crossover one. Word Count: 2,023 Pairing: Rafael Barba x Reader Synopsis: The trial of Greg Yates, and some decisions are made. Previous Chapter - Next Chapter
“Y/N? Does that sound good?” Rafael asked, looking at you in confusion. You shook your head, breaking free from your clouded thoughts and looked over at him.
“What?” He laughed and gave you a strange look.
“I asked if you wanted to go out to eat tonight.”
“Oh yeah,” you said, standing up and grabbing the basket of laundry in front of you. “That sounds good.”
“Are you okay?” he asked. “You’ve been quiet since your trip.”
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” you said, reaching out to hold his hand. “Just a little tired, that’s all.”
“Okay,” Rafael said, although he didn’t sound like he believed you. Although, you couldn’t blame him. You weren’t being entirely truthful with him. You had not told Rafael about Mike’s job offer yet, and it was still bothering you that you couldn’t decide.
Mike was remaining as patient as possible, but kept pestering you about if you had decided yet. The more he asked, the more you wanted to answer, but the answer you were ready to give, wasn’t one you wanted to.
“Are you ready for today?” you asked.
“Yes,” he said, taking the last swig of his coffee. “Although Voight doesn’t think I am.” You sighed and looked down at him.
“I know he’s been kind of an asshole to you, but you have to imagine w-”
“I don’t want to,” he said quickly. “I don’t want to imagine what I would do in that situation.” You smiled softly as he looked up at you with wide eyes. Everyone on the Chicago P.D. had lost someone close to them, but Voight was closer to Nadia than the rest.
“Well, lucky for you, you’ll never have to.” His smile reached half of his face as you walked up the steps to get dressed for court.
A little while later, you were there, ready for another brutal day of testimonies. Yates was very good. You hadn’t remembered the last time you felt this anxious just sitting in the stands. Of course you knew Rafael was better than Yates, but the three people surrounding you didn’t know that.
Voight had already snapped at Rafael once. You told Rafael not to worry about it, that he was just going through the grieving process, but if there was one thing that got Rafael more fired up for court or more competitive with himself, was when someone was challenging him.
And Yates was one of the worst people you had seen sit in that box.
He decided to represent himself, something that always threw you, and the jury off. He looked like he enjoyed everything that was happening, and enjoyed torturing the Chicago detectives.
As you sat with them in court, you started to realize that these were the sort of people you may be working with. Of course you were hoping to work in Mike’s department, but you might be put elsewhere. They Chicago detectives seemed fine, but they weren’t Nick and they weren’t Fin and they weren’t Liv.
The doors on the other side of the room opened, and your attention was pulled to Yates. He smiled happily at the jury and you rolled your eyes. Everyone in the stands could feel the tension. They needed to get this guy. Not just to avenge Nadia and all the other women he had murdered, but for the good of everyone. He had already killed and tortured dozens of women, no one wanted that number to rise.
Rafael, however, looked unfazed. Last night, he spent a very limited amount of time prepping. You were surprised when after taking a shower, he was in bed, not in his office. He seemed confident, but told you that you’d have to wait until tomorrow like everyone else.
Now that you were here, you watched his genius unfold quickly. As Rafael brought Dr. Warner back up to the stand, you watched as he carefully placed the pictures of Nadia on his desk, in clear view of Yates.
As Rafael spoke to Warner, you watched, and watched the jury watched, Yates stare at the pictures. As soon as Yates stood up, you knew that he was finished. In horror, everyone watched as he went into detail asking Warner about the pain that Nadia must have gone through.
“Mr. Barba, not to put words in your mouth, but I’d accept an objection anytime,” the judge said uncomfortably, looking at Rafael.
“I’m fine, your honor,” he replied smoothly. You couldn’t even muster a little chuckle because of what you were witnessing. The jury returned quickly, and found Yates guilty on all charges. You walked out of the courthouse with Rafael’s hand in yours.
“I see why you were so confident last night,” you said.
“Well, I’m always confident with the greatest woman in the world at my side.” You laughed and leaned in as he kissed your forehead. The Chicago P.D. crew walked up and shook hands with Rafael, thanking him. The two of you had dinner plans for tonight, so dismissed yourself.
However, as you two were walking down the steps you were stopped when someone called out your name. You turned towards the left and saw Graham walking up the steps.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” you asked.
“Um, there was just something I wanted to talk to you about,” he said, letting out a breath that you could see in the cold air.
“Okay.” You looked back at Rafael and he nodded. He released your hand and you knew you would meet up at the restaurant later. You started walking with Graham the opposite way down the street. “It’s good that you’re here because there’s something I wanted to talk to you about, too.”
“Oh yeah?” he asked. You nodded and looked up at him.
“So what did you want to talk about?” you asked. He shook his head and held his hand out to you.
“No, why don’t you go first?” You let out a big sigh but started. You told him everything that happened in Chicago, what you were thinking about doing, how you didn’t feel it would be right to leave Rafael, and everything in between.
“Wow,” Graham said when you were finished, and had already walked ten blocks. “So you’re really thinking of moving?”
“I know it’s crazy, but I can’t stop thinking about it.”
“Well, I think you should do it.”
“Really?” you asked, looking up at him in surprise.
“I mean, if you want to,” he said, back-peddling a little bit. “I haven’t heard you this excited about something since you started hooking up with Rafael.” You smirked and looked down at your feet.
“That’s what’s hard,” you said. “I don’t want to leave Rafael, and I don’t think he’d come with me.”
“Why not?” he asked. “He loves you a lot.”
“Well, no doubt,” you said with a laugh. “But he loves his job. I wouldn’t want him to give up on that either.” Graham nodded and took a moment to respond.
“So what are you going to do?” he asked. You shrugged and looked up into his eyes.
“What do you think I should do?”
“Follow your heart. But give it a little more time to decide. You don’t have to know right away. I think you’ll know when you know.” You nodded as your phone buzzed in your pocket. You pulled it out and saw a text message from Rafael.
R: Change of plans for dinner. How about we meet here?
You smiled to yourself, immediately recognizing the pizza place he suggested. You responded immediately, telling him you’d meet him there in an hour.
“Thank you, Graham,” you said, looking up at him suddenly. “What did you want to talk about?” He sighed and glanced over at your phone.
“Nothing, it can wait.”
“No, you came all the way down to the courthouse to talk about it, what’s up?” you asked, grabbing hold of his forearm. He laughed and shook his head.
“It’s really nothing. I- uh- I was just thinking about asking this girl out. But after seeing your reaction to that text from Rafael, I’ve decided.”
“Yeah?” you asked.
“Yeah, I want what you have.” You smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek.
“Well, good luck. I can’t wait to meet her,” you said as you started walking the opposite way.
“Yep. See ya,” he said.
The door to the pizzeria jingled as you walked in. Rafael was already sitting at a table, staring at the menu. You slid into the booth across from him and grinned at him.
“What? No Harvard sweatshirts tonight?” you asked with a smile, remembering the first date you two actually went on in this very place. He laughed halfheartedly and shrugged.
“No, I didn’t really have time to stop home.”
“Neither did I,” you said, gesturing to your attire. “Which is why I look a mess.”
“You always look amazing.” You kicked his foot playfully underneath the table and smiled at him.
“So have you ordered yet?”
“No, I was waiting for you.”
“Come on, you know what I like,” you said, glancing up at him once. He looked incredibly nervous, and you were about to ask him what was bothering him, when your waiter walked up. You ordered two waters and a large pepperoni and green pepper pizza before turning your attention back to Rafael.
“Is everything alright, babe?” you asked.
“Yeah,” he said, shaking his head and taking a sip of water the waiter just brought. “Everything is great.”
“You killed it in court today,” you said. “Even if it was horrifying.” He nodded and looked down at his hands.
“Yeah, it was.”
“Are you sure you’re alright?” you asked.
“Yeah, it’s just- today had me thinking.”
“Yeah?” you asked, looking into his green eyes.
“Yeah, it had me thinking about what I would do if something like that ever happened to us.”
“Oh, Rafi,” you said, shaking your head. “Don’t think like that.”
“I can’t help it. And after talking to Voight, and seeing how much he regrets, I realized that that isn’t something that I want.” You took a deep breath and stared at him hard. You were starting to get a sense of why he was so nervous, but were too nervous yourself to guess.
“Y/N, I love you so much. More than I can even express to you in this little pizzeria, but I need you to know how crazy I am about you.”
“I know,” you said, reaching across the table to take his hand in yours. He smiled softly and rubbed your hand with his thumb.
“And I don’t ever want you to spend a day thinking that I’m not there for you, or that I don’t love you, or any horrible thought you may ever have. I want you to always come to me, because you’ll always have me.
“You’ll always have me, Y/N. So,” he said, dropping your hand and reaching into his coat pocket as you waited with bated breath. He pulled out a velvety box with a sparkling diamond ring inside of it.
“Oh,” you said, not being able to finish your sentence as your breath caught in your throat.
“I know it’s fast, and I know it’s probably crazy, but that’s kind of how our relationship has gone so far, so why not take the next step like that too? I already talked to your father, and he’s given his blessing, which I know you don’t need, but-” he stopped and let out a breath.
“I love you to death, cariño. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I want to know that you’ll always have me, and that I’ll always have you. He took your hand in his again and took one more breath before finally popping the question.
“Y/N Y/M/N Dodds, will you marry me, and make me the happiest man in the world?” You looked up into his eyes, and could feel tears brimming in yours. Everything in his face made you want to say yes, every part of you wanted to say yes.
And yet,
“No.”

Show notes
What is RPE? – RPE stands for Rating of Perceived Exertion. Eric has a Ph.D in a specific type of RPE. It is essentially a scale that tells you how hard the perceived effort of training is to accomplish, which was developed by Gunnar Borg. Eric studies an iteration of RPE developed in 2007 by Mike Tuchscherer, which adds the layer of repetitions in reserve. RPE is used as a simple way to auto-regulate your training volume. In addition, RPE can be used to measure progression and manage fatigue. [2:00]
What about going to failure? – While Dorian Yates got ripped by training to failure, however, using RPE can be an effective tool in knowing when you should, or if you should, go to failure. Training to failure all the time will likely put you at a higher risk of injury, with Dorian being a prime example. [5:30]
What we know about hypertrophy. – Hypertrophy is primarily related to the amount of work you do at an adequate level of effort (intensity) for what you are capable of doing. In addition, hypertrophy is related to repeating that work and effort as often as possible. [7:00]
Andy trained with Dorian Yates. – Andy trained back with Dorian about five years ago. Here’s a photo album with some photos Andy took. [8:00]
How useful can RPE be for bodybuilders versus power-lifting or other sports. – RPE would be applied differently depending on the context. A powerlifter might have a heavy singles day using RPE to build technique. Intensity of load is calculated by repetition maximum or percentage of repetition maximum. Volume is calculated by sets x reps x load. RPE is just intensity of effort. RPE is a way to quantify the data and is part of any training program, tracked or not. [10:00]
Why use RPE when you could use percentage of repetition maximum? – The further you get away from failure, the less accurate RPE becomes. Anything more than three reps left in reserve, the accuracy of RPE goes down. [12:15]
The 2% rule. – If you have rated something at 8.5 RPE and the goal was 8, you drop the load 2%. If you rated it at 7.5 RPE, you would increase the load by 2%. This works fairly well to adjust the load in the right direction. [14:00]
Sample programs using RPE. – You can see RPE sample programs in The Muscle and Strength Pyramid Books or on RippedBody.com in the Training section. There is also the RPE Mastery Email Course. [15:00]
How did MASS start? – Greg Nuckols messaged Eric about starting a research review and brought Michael Zourdos on board. MASS was born. They pick the most prominent articles that result in you learning how to program better. [16:00]
A minimum calorie intake for clients? – Eric bases it on a weekly average and tries not to go below is 10kcals/pound (22kcals/kilogram). However, contest prep clients will have this rule broken. Instead of going lower in calories, increased cardio might be the only option. Andy mentions that there is often a counting or tracking issue when a client is unable to lose weight. Eric will sometimes use single-ingredient food list for the short-term to prove that they can lose weight. Eric also mentions being realistic with clients, especially when they are the general population. Eric also turns to a week-long diet break before trying to cut calories further. [19:00]
Eric talks about the simple meal plan they use. – Potatoes, rice, lean meats, and other foods that do not need to be prepared. If a client is spending two hours preparing food, they have been dieting too long. Eric mentions that everything must be weighed on the scale, within the context of assessing a diet. [27:00]
Updates coming to the Muscle and Strength Pyramid Books? – There will be translations coming to the ebooks. Might be new video content. Eric has new information for the second edition and wants to talk about the “recovery diet.” Andy mentions the potential of making the ebook into a course. [29:30]
What’s the best protein frequency for maximum muscle gain? – There is acute mechanistic data which is not very realistic. However, based on this data, getting 20-40 grams of protein per feeding every 3-4 hours would be optimal. With this in mind, the timing is insignificant compared to actually getting enough daily protein. Intermittent fasting and protein spread should not be opposing strategies, as Eric points out they can be used effectively together. [34:00]
Eric talks about his protein research. – Eric is very focused on applied outcomes in the context of resistance training. 1.6-2.2 grams per kilogram of total body mass is optimal. The idea of “a gram per pound” is fairly accurate advice. Resistance training will do more to help maintain muscle mass than protein intake. [37:30]
Can a natural bodybuilder train full-body or upper-lower split and maintain hypertrophy? – Eric says yes. Steroids simply make everything work better. A more appropriate question would be on the frequency, intensity and volume required to maintain hypertrophy. Frequency of 2-3 times per week. Hitting each muscle group with at least 10 sets per week. There is an endless number of ways to run your programming, including splits and full-body. [40:30]
Does the rate of weight loss impact how much is lean muscle mass or fat? – You could have someone in any ratio. The leaner you get, the more weight loss will be lean muscle mass. The greater caloric deficit, the greater loss will be lean muscle mass. A good target is losing 0.5-1% of your body mass per week with a good diet, de-loads, and adequate training. If you would like simple guidelines, check out The Complete Guide to Setting Up Your Diet. [42:30]
Should bodybuilders track volume like power-lifters? – Total repetitions makes more sense for bodybuilders. Total sets would also work. Another way would be relative volume, which is sets x reps x % of 1 Rep Max. Eric thinks modifying sets over time is the best way for bodybuilders to get over a plateau. [45:00]
Is there anything coaches are missing in the fitness industry? – More emphasis needs to be on actual coaching for behavior change. Eric’s 3DMJ Podcast covers this concept regularly. [47:45]
How to get over insomnia. Minimize screen time after dark. Make your bed a place for sleeping. A regular eating pattern. Melatonin is also an option, but start at a very low dosage. Having a meal before bed might work. Not training at night. Andy has a checklist for better sleep on his FAQ page. [49:30]
What is Eric’s daily routine? – Eric is a big picture thinker and broke up his time into blocks. Eric would train 4-6 times per week, while never neglecting sleep or food. Eric likes to schedule fun time and it helps him from getting distracted. Eric also schedules time away from others. [52:00]
Nutrition advice for bodybuilding peak week. – Eric suggests reading Evidence-based recommendations for natural bodybuilding contest preparation. You want to not be carb depleted, not be dehydrated, and not be low-blood pressure. Eric uses salt water with his clients right before they go on stage. [57:45]
Thoughts on research versus experience. – Eric doesn’t see them as competing forces. Experience is still a form of evidence. [1:03:30]
The difference between a Ph.D. and a Masters. – The research project is larger in scope for a Ph.D. You also take more graduate classes for a Ph.D. Differs based on country of study and school. [1:06:00]
If you could a put a billboard anywhere in the world, saying anything, what would it say? – Put yourself in other people’s shoes more often. [1:08:05]
Thank you for listening! – Andy and Eric

They Propose
First Doctor
You would be exploring a distant planet, and he would suddenly ask what you thought of marriage. Then when you returned to the TARDIS, you would find a velvet box on the bed and rush to the console room, grinning. You walked to the Doctor who was piloting the TARDIS and kissed his cheek. He would see the ring on your finger and know your answer. He smiled for a moment before clearing his throat, suppressing his smile. You could celebrate in private later.
Second Doctor
He took you to Gallifrey, breaking the law about humans in Gallifrey. You were walking through red grass as he told you stories of his childhood. You were in awe that he was sharing this with you, unaware that he had broken the law. He stopped on a cliff, looking out at the waves for a moment. You stared in awe while he quietly kneeled, taking out a ring from his pocket. He took your hand, and your eyes widened when you saw him on one knee.
“Y/N L/N,” He smiled up at you. You had legally changed your name back to your maiden name instead of Salamander, and it was a big step for it was the last thing you had of Ramon. “Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?”
You placed a hand over your chest, tears in your eyes as you nodded with a smile. “Yes!” He slid the ring on your finger and stood up, placing his hands on your cheek, and kissing you passionately.
You heard distant voices, and the Doctor grabbed your hand, pulling you as he ran. “What’s wrong?”
“You’re not supposed to be here. Humans aren’t allowed on Gallifrey.” He explained.
Your eyes widened, surprised that he had gone to such lengths to propose to you. Laughter left your lips as you ran hand in hand back to the TARDIS, and the Doctor quickly set the machine into flight before the guards reached the doors.
You giggled as you walked towards him, wrapping your arms around his neck, and kissing his cheek. You knew life would only get more interesting as his wife.
Third Doctor
After work, you had entered the TARDIS and noticed how dark it was, calling out for the Doctor. Lights guided the way to where the Doctor stood, a smile on his lips, a candlelit dinner on the table.
You took off your jacket, smiling as you admired his work. He walked toward you and placed his hands on your arms, kissing your cheek. “Happy anniversary.”
“Happy anniversary.” You placed a hand on his cheek, pecking his lips.
As you took your seats, he asked about your day, and once you had finished your meals, he took your hand across the table. He took the ring box from his pocket, and your eyes widened.
“I was thinking that this anniversary could become our wedding anniversary.” He said with a smile. “Will you marry me?”
Words failed you, so you nodded your head with tears in your eyes, and he slipped the ring on your finger. You leaned across to kiss him tenderly. Although you were upset, that you had to work on your anniversary, it couldn’t have ended better.
Fourth Doctor
It was a normal day, a new planet, a new species, and a new threat. You were contemplating your chances of survival when he suddenly spoke up, not looking up from what he was working on, “We should get married.”
You turned to him in shock, “What did you say?”
He looked up confidently, “We should get married.” His confidence wavered slightly when you didn’t speak, “If you want to, that is.”
You walked over to him, “This isn’t just because we could die here, is it?”
He shook his head, “Left pocket.” Your eyebrows furrowed before you reached into his pocket, looking at the velvet box. You smiled softly as you looked at him as he worked, reconstructing wires.
You put the ring on your finger and when he felt the cool metal against his cheek he knew your answer, smiling against your lips when you kissed him.
Fifth Doctor
You were getting changed and since you had no night clothes of your own, you stole his shirts. When you were looking for a shirt you found a velvet box, opening it up to see the ring inside.
“I should have chosen a better hiding place.”
You turned when he spoke up. “You like giving out mixed signals.” You laughed nervously.
He sighed as he took the ring box from you. “I know. And I apologize. But if I’ve realized one thing these past few months it’s that falling in love with you was inevitable. And although you might not be with this version of me, I will always love you. Even if I walk with a different face, that will never change.” He took the ring from the box and took hold of your hand, “Will you be my wife?”
You pretended to think for a moment and he smiled softly when you nodded, slipping the ring on your finger. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him lovingly.
Sixth Doctor
He showed his nerves through his remarks, but when Perrie left he went silent and you knew better than to ask questions. He landed the TARDIS and looked at you expectantly, and when you asked about Perrie he shook his head and left.
You followed him out of the TARDIS after leaving a note for Perrie, pausing when you saw the jungle outside. You walked through the trees to find him by a pond, the water a glittering blue.
“What is this place?”
“Paradise.”
You giggled, standing beside him, looping your arm with his. “I meant the planet.”
“I was referring to you. Wherever you are.”
“Smooth.” You smiled teasingly, “What did you do?”
“I can give compliments without an ulterior motive.”
You hummed and he smiled when you wrapped your arms around his neck. “What’s going on with you today? You were snappy with Perrie - more than usual.”
He sighed, taking out the velvet box from his pocket. “I bought this on Sahalo 5.” Your eyes widened when you saw the ring inside. “And I haven’t found the right way to ask…” He handed you the box and you admired the ring.
“Will you marry me?”
He nodded, “Yes. But not for the reasons you think.” He added when your face fell, believing it was because he was unsure of your relationship. “You and I have been and seen so much together. Endured the unimaginable. Yet you stayed. And I don’t know why.”
You smiled softly, “Because, despite your rough edges, you’re a good man. And I love you. Do you love me?”
“Of course I do.”
“Then…” You handed him the box, “I believe you have something to ask me, Doctor.”
He took your hand and you smiled when he kneeled on one knee, “Y/N,” You giggled at the dramatic way he said your name, “will you marry this sarcastic,”
“Rude,”
“Hey, steady on.” He said with a smile.
“Yes.” You smiled.
He looked at you for a moment.
“Yes, I’ll marry you.”
He smiled widely, slipping the ring on your finger, and standing up to kiss you.
Seventh Doctor
He took you to the first planet you visited and it was a trip down memory lane, seeing how far you had come and how things have changed between you. He proposed to you on a hill, and when you returned to the TARDIS Ace eagerly awaited the sight of the ring the Doctor had shown her weeks before, on your finger.
Eighth Doctor
He proposed to you as you admired the stars, and you celebrated with a glass of wine. He held your hand as you talked for hours, his thumb brushing over the ring, loving the feeling of it on your finger.
War Doctor
He didn’t get the chance to propose before he regenerated.
Ninth Doctor
You returned from a chaotic adventure and as you got showered and changed, the Doctor realized that he couldn’t wait any longer. You found him in the console room, looking at something in his hand that you couldn’t see. His leather jacket was still dirty from your trip.
“Everything okay?” Your voice startled him and he turned, holding the ring between his thumb and index finger. “Is that -”
“Marry me.” He blurted out. “I mean, will you marry me?”
You smiled once you recovered from the shock, nodding, “Yes.”
He visibly relaxed, smiling as he walked closer, placing the ring on your finger. His hands fell to your waist, pulling you into a kiss.
Tenth Doctor
You were in Tudor times when Henry VIII reigned and as he brought up his wives, he asked how you felt about marriage. While you talked, you missed his smile as you explained how you felt about marriage.
“We should get married.” He suggested casually, looking around.
You stopped walking, “What?”
“I’m saying we should get married.” He said, turning to you with a smile.
He then rambled nonsense you couldn’t pay attention to and when you fled to the TARDIS from guards, he said, “Just think, you’d have more of this to look forward to.”
You squealed when you fell down when he sent the TARDIS into flight, the Doctor landed beside you on his back, laughing. You heard something fall out of his pocket and found a ring box. He leaned on his elbow with a grin and you realized he was serious earlier.
“I know it’s not romantic -”
You kissed him with a smile on your lips, pulling away moments later. “Yes. Yes! I’ll marry you!”
He grinned wildly until steam came from the console. He pulled you to your feet and you giggled as he ran his thumb over the ring on your finger, a smile on his lips.
“First you need to save our lives.”
“Oh right.” He remembered the situation and you shook your head fondly, helping him pilot the TARDIS to safety.
Eleventh Doctor
River brought up marriage and you asked if the Doctor got married in the future. She winked at you and said, “Spoilers,” an answer that you took for a yes. But as he stood across from you, in front of a pyramid you finally understood what she meant.
He had spoken to you about marriage before but you thought it was a hypothetical question. So you told him you’d like to go to ancient Egypt and he had taken note of this.
“Y/N?” He chuckled, seeing you had frozen in shock.
You realized he had knelt down and felt his hand take yours.
“Will you marry me?”
You nodded, unable to speak and he stood up with a grin, placing the ring on your finger. You placed your hand on his cheek, smiling up at the bow tie-wearing timelord.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Twelfth Doctor
He wasn’t as affectionate as the others. When asked about his feelings for you, he would say, “I told you I loved you.”
“Yeah, once.” You smiled at him fondly while Clara shook her head, shocked.
“If anything changed I’d let you know.”
So the proposal came as a surprise. Not only was it emotional and romantic, but he told you he loved you and brought you into an embrace, kissing you tenderly.
Thirteenth Doctor
She had gotten the ring in her past incarnation but never had a chance to ask the question. You were wide awake, while the others had collapsed on their beds and spoke about your history, laughing at a few stories.
She told you how grateful she was for how accepting you were. She told you she loved you and awkwardly brought up the ring. You were shocked and as she rambled, a smile formed on your lips.
“Well, for the record, if you asked, I would have said yes.” You told her.
She reached into her pocket and revealed the ring box. “Good thing I held onto it then.”
Fourteenth Doctor
He had planned it for a while and when you arrived home you found him in the Tardis, the lights were out, and he kneeled in the middle of a circle of lit candles.
"You are a remarkable woman. And I would follow you anywhere if you'll let me?"
Delgado!Master
He surprised you with dinner and before dessert, he took your hand and showed you the ring. You smiled softly, seeing his usual confidence was absent tonight.
“Of course, I’ll marry you.”
He smiled, eyes brightening as he placed the ring on your finger. He kissed your knuckles and you leaned across the table to peck his lips.
Ainley!Master
He had mentioned Gallifrey once and his tone told you that you should never ask again so you didn’t. But to see his home planet was the moment he promised you that he wouldn’t hold anything back, to be completely honest with you.
He proposed to you above Gallifrey and told you one day he would take you there, as his bride.
Roberts!Master
He never got the chance to propose before his demise.
Jacobi!Master
You had survived the time war miraculously and when he decided to go into hiding as a human, you programmed your memories as friends and as you helped him at the Silo, love bloomed and he proposed to you one night in the lab.
Simm!Master
He made a spectacle of it. You were attending an event that would increase his power and bring him one step closer to glory. You never liked these events but you enjoyed the time you spent with him, dancing and laughing. He stopped the small orchestra and you turned when you heard him calling for everyone’s attention.
“Y/N, come here.” You smiled faintly, sending confused glances his way as you stood beside him.
He proposed to you in front of the crowd, giving a speech, thanking you for always being by his side. You teared up as you whispered yes, nodding your head and he put the ring on your finger, intertwining your fingers as he stood up to kiss you.
Missy
You were lying in bed, reminiscing when she blurted out, “Marry me.”
You looked at her questioningly but she only repeated it.
“You’re serious.” You lifted your head from her shoulder, leaning on your elbow.
She nodded, “Yes.”
You smiled brightly, “Okay. Okay, I’ll marry you.” You leaned down to kiss her, smiling into the kiss.
Dhawan!Master
He proposed to you one night you sat on the porch, watching the sun go down. His TARDIS resided on a beautiful landscape and it was peaceful out of the city, just the two of you.
“I could sit here forever.” You sighed dreamily.
He smiled at you, taking the box out of his pocket. “We could.”
You looked at him, eyebrows knitting it together. “What?”
“We could stay here. Together.” He stood up, taking your hand as he knelt in front of you. Your eyes widened, catching his meaning. “Will you do me the utmost honour, and become my wife?”
“Yes!” You replied a second later, causing him to chuckle fondly, placing the ring on your finger. You nearly tackled him in a hug and he smiled as he cupped your cheek, pressing his lips to yours.
Jamie McCrimmon
You had an arranged marriage so you knew that when you were formally introduced for the first time that he would propose. You were sitting in your garden when he arrived and he took a deep breath before approaching you.
He greeted you with a smile and you returned it, although it didn’t reach your eyes. He took your hands as you stood up and you stared up at him, admiring his gentle features.
“Will you be my wife?” He squeezed your hands, easing his nerves.
“I will.” You smiled softly.
Jamie looked at your father who approached, congratulating you both.
Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart
He took you out for dinner, arriving home early from work. You went for a walk afterward and as you were walking he suddenly knelt on one knee and you gasped when you saw the ring. He smiled when you said yes, standing up to slip the ring on your finger.
Mike Yates
You had found the ring box in his dresser and he had come home, finding you with the ring. He stammered for a few moments before taking it from you, “Not how I planned but…” He knelt on one knee and took your hand, smiling up at you. “Y/N L/N, will you marry me?”
You nodded, smiling as he slipped the ring on your finger.
Alydon
News hadn’t spread about his broken arrangement with Dyoni yet but Alydon didn’t waste a second as he raced over to find you as you trained. You looked at the panting leader with a raised eyebrow, as he stopped in front of you.
“Marry me.”
Your eyes widened, unable to speak. Alydon quickly filled the silence.
“I am no longer promised to Dyoni. I know what I want and as a leader, I get to decide.” He stood a little taller, “And if I have to spend the rest of my life with someone I want it to be with you.”
“You make it sound so damning.” You smiled.
“Not if I get to spend the rest of my life with you.” He said, placing a hand on your cheek. “Marry me?”
You nodded, smiling brightly when his lips met yours, placing a hand on his chest.
Rory Williams
It was a foolish idea to tell Amy that he planned on proposing. She had taken over and at first, Rory was hesitant. It was odd that his ex-wife was planning where he would propose but when he saw the familiar street he couldn’t form words on how to thank her or the Doctor. The two left to explore your hometown and you enjoyed being home again, sitting on a hill eating fruit as you reminisced about memories you shared with Rory there.
He took the ring from his pocket and cleared his throat, kneeling on the ground. You turned to look at him, eyes widening when you saw the ring.
“I swear that every day I will care for you. Love you. Protect you. You left your home for me and I can’t thank the stars enough that you did because I don’t know what my life would be like without you in it. I get scared thinking about it…” he cleared his throat, realizing he was rambling. “Y/N L/N, will you marry me?”
You wiped a tear that fell on your cheek and Rory frowned. “Sorry -” He paused when you kissed him, erasing his doubts.
“Of course, I’ll marry you.” You smiled when you pulled away. He placed the ring on your finger and kissed you tenderly, pulling away when Amy and The Doctor emerged, clapping and cheering.
Ian Chesterton
You both wanted to leave the Tardis for weeks. You felt you had more to live back on Earth, a life planned out with marriage and kids that could never happen on the Tardis. You had laid in bed talking about what your life would be if you were on Earth and Ian said he would propose to you, and the only reason he hadn’t right now was that he didn’t have a ring.
When you returned to Earth, weeks after settling into a normal life without aliens and different planets every day, Ian planned a romantic dinner. He held your hand as he knelt beside your chair, holding an open ring box in his hand.
“Will you marry me?” He asked with a smile.
“Yes!” You nodded, biting your lip when he slipped the ring on your finger. You both stood up and he wrapped his arms around you, dipping you slightly as he kissed you.

You / They get hurt and you patch each other up
First Doctor
You were running through woodland when your shoulder collided with a tree. You looked at the wound and saw it was just a graze so you continued to run back to the Tardis, bursting through the doors.
“Got it!” You held up the device that the Doctor wanted you to steal. You were light on your feet and faster than the others, so you were the best choice to sneak in and out. You handed it to the Doctor, who attached it to the Tardis with three wires before setting the Tardis into flight.
He would repair the frazzled console later, but for now, he was eager to make a swift getaway. You looked at your torn shirt and headed to the med bay, searching the cupboards for what you needed. You sat on the chair and started cleaning the wound before placing a small bandage over it.
“Need some help?” He entered as you tried to tear the tape with your teeth. You handed him the small roll of tape, holding the bandage on your arm with two fingers while he stuck the edges down with tape. “I never knew you could do first aid.”
“I trained with a healer before we met. I only lasted two weeks, though, so I only know the basics. Now that I travel with you, it comes in handy.”
“What happened?” He asked, turning his head to look at you when you started putting things away.
“I was running, and when I looked over my shoulder to see how close the big bad guys with swords were,” you move to stand in front of him, “I caught my arm on a tree. It’s just a graze so I’ll be fine.”
He nodded, and you looped your arm with his arm, leading him back to the console room. “But if anyone asks, it was a sword.”
Second Doctor
Getting separated was the one thing that made the Doctor panic. He always had a plan, but on his adventures, anything could happen. Being kidnapped by a man who wanted to test your brain to see if you were compatible, was just one of the many possibilities. But the Doctor had burst into the room with Jamie and their new friend Zoe. You were bound to a chair, unable to turn your head, but Leo hadn’t been able to bind your legs due to the trio barrelling in. You kicked his back, sending him towards Jamie who grinned, holding him while the Doctor shut down the machine.
“Are you alright?” He asked, placing his hands on your arms gently.
“I think so.” He caught you when you fainted and looked at Jamie.
“Jamie, take her back to the Tardis, will you?” The Scotsman nodded, walking over to pick you up. He left with Zoe while the Doctor ‘dealt’ with Leo. Well, that was the only explanation you received when you woke up in the Tardis. You went to your bedroom and reached under the bed to get a small tin box, filled with bandages and cleaning wipes.
You went to the mirror on the wall, wincing as you moved your hair away from the gash on your forehead from the weapon Leo had used to knock you unconscious. You were cutting a bandage to a smaller size to place over it when the Doctor entered.
“Where did you get all of those?” He asked.
“When you live with Ramón Salamander you learn to keep a med kit nearby.”
He looked at the gash on your forehead, “Here, let me.”
You handed him the bandage and he placed it gently over the gash on your forehead. “Planets. How cute.”
You laughed lightly, “I thought so.”
He shook his head with a smile on his lips, kissing your cheek as he placed his arm around you as you headed to the door.
Third Doctor
The mysterious dinosaurs were fascinating, but they were also frightening. Tearing through the city, destroying buildings, vehicles - anything they came across they destroyed just by walking through it. The Doctor had returned with Sarah-Jane to find UNIT in chaos, and he found you hard at work at the crisis centre UNIT had arranged, tending to the injured soldiers.
Currently, you were dealing with the aftermath of one of the dinosaurs escaping The Doctor’s trap, Sarah-Jane right next door to it when it broke free.
“Take a seat.” You smiled at the shaken journalist as you guided her to a chair, leaving her side for a few moments to get a first aid kit you kept in the Tardis.
You walked out and set the small tin on the table, taking out what you needed to make sure her cuts wouldn’t get infected. The Doctor walked into the room after inspecting the damage with Alistair.
“Are you alright?” He asked the brunette, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“I’ll be fine,” Sarah-Jane said.
You cleaned the graze on her forehead that she received when the dinosaur escaped The Doctor’s trap. “Just keep it clean. And take one of these if you get any headaches.” You handed her a small pot of pills and she thanked you. “Get some sleep.”
“I’ll try.” She smiled at you before leaving the room.
“You’ve been busy.” The Doctor smiled at you and your newfound confidence in your abilities.
“I feel like I’m learning more here than when I went to Med School.” You smiled, sitting on the chair Sarah-Jane had occupied. “Do you know why the trap didn’t work?”
“No.” He sighed, leaning against the table, and crossing his arms. “And I doubt I will be able to trap another dinosaur.”
“If you get hurt trying, you know who to call.” You jested with a smile.
He chuckled, walking over to you, and placing his hands on the arms of the chair. “There is one thing I have to ask.” You raised an eyebrow, questioningly. “Where did you get the uniform?”
“I am a nurse, you know?”
“But you’re never at work.”
“Because you keep kidnapping me.”
“Oh, you love it.”
Fourth Doctor
It happened when you were on Skaro. You were in the heart of what you had dubbed, the ‘Dalek factory’ and had burned your arm on some pipes. You managed to hide it from The Doctor despite the pain you were in and when you got back to the Tardis, you hid in the bedroom while you tried to treat the burn. The Doctor walked in, pausing when he saw the burn.
“What happened?” He walked over, holding your arm gently as he inspected it.
“I caught my arm on a pipe. Don’t worry, I’ve got what I need here.” You gestured to the first aid kit on the bed and he sighed as he released your arm.
“Still wished you would have told me.” He said. “Even if I find the thought of you dressed as a nurse appealing.”
You jokingly rolled your eyes, and he chuckled. “What? Harry nor Sarah-Jane are here, and you said and I quote, ‘no flirting around the companions because they ask me about it later and I don’t like talking about our sex life’.”
“Shut up and tear some tape.”
“Yes, nurse.”
Fifth Doctor
“Setting seven.”
You adjusted the sonic screwdriver and aimed it at the wires he was trying to meld together. The wires sparked and he quickly took the sonic from you, “That’s setting three!”
“Well, it’s different than what I’m used to.“
“You said you knew how to use it!”
“I do! The upgraded version!”
He gasped loudly, highly offended and you got to your feet, walking away. The Doctor stayed in the console room to work on a repair that didn’t require it and after a few minutes guilt started weighing him down, commanding his focus and he knew he wouldn’t be able to finish without talking to you.
He knocked on the door, walking into your bedroom to see you cleaning a cut on your leg. “What happened?”
“I caught my leg on something when I was mad at you.”
“Mad? Why were you mad? I was mad, and rightfully so because you nearly set the Tardis on fire.”
You rolled your eyes, “As If you haven’t done that before.”
“Here.” He smiled, picking up a bandage, and handing it to you. “Where did you learn this anyway?”
“My mother was a nurse.” You said.
“You never told me that.”
“I didn’t want your ego getting bruised by stating the fact you’re not a real Doctor.”
“I am!”
“Yes, but whose medicine and whose philosophy.” You rolled your eyes at the line you had heard a thousand times.
“You know it was comforting in the beginning how well you knew me, but now I’m starting to find it irritating.”
“Only because you can’t win an argument.”
Sixth Doctor
You were running through the woods when you tripped over a tree root, scratching your knee in the process. So when you got back to the Tardis you made sure to keep the wound clean and the Doctor observed you with a smile.
“What?”
“Nothing. Well, you seem to know exactly what you are doing, so I was just thinking about you being a Nurse or a Doctor.”
Peri grimaced and headed for the door.
“Not like that!” He called to her before the door closed. “But now I am.”
You stood up and patted his shoulder. “There isn’t enough room on this Tardis for two egos.”
He smiled at the gesture, quickly frowning when you spoke.
“Where did you learn to do that anyway?” He asked while you put away your supplies.
“I don’t know. I just picked it up when we first started traveling together. It’s come in handy.”
Seventh Doctor
“I can’t believe he punched me!”
“I can.” You sighed when he moved his head. “Now, sit still! If there are stitches it will heal quicker, Time Lord.”
He rolled his eyes crossing his arms. “Where did you pick this up from anyway?”
“I knew someone would hit you eventually so…” You said with a smirk, causing him to laugh forcefully. “I thought it would be me though.”
You cut the thread and took a step back. “There. All done.”
Eighth Doctor
You entered the console room, finding the doors were open and The Doctor was sitting on the edge, looking at the galaxy outside. You smiled as you took a seat beside him.
“How’re your wrists?” You asked.
He twisted his hand around his left wrist, thinking about the events that took place only three hours ago. “They’ll mend.”
You noticed the cuts on his wrists from the handcuffs that the Master had used on him while he opened the Eye of Harmony and stood up, “I’ll be right back.”
You reappeared five minutes later with a small box and the Doctor smiled at you as you took out what you needed. You cleaned the small cuts and he stared at you, admiring the way your eyebrows knit together when you concentrated. Although Time Lords healed themselves, he was grateful you had thought about him.
“I didn’t know you were a Doctor.”
“Oh, I’m not. But I lived alone and when you’re as clumsy as I am, it only makes sense that you know how to take care of yourself.” You glanced at him, sending him a small smile before rolling his sleeve down. You closed the box and placed it beside you, looking out at the galaxy.
The Doctor admired you for a moment before turning his head to look at the star you were pointing to, a smile on his lips.
“That’s Betelgeuse.”
“Bettlegeuse?”
“Bete-lg-euse.”
“Betal-geuse?”
He chuckled, “Now, you’re purposely getting it wrong.”
You smiled, resting your head on his shoulder. “Tell me about Betelgeuse then.”
“It’s the tenth brightest star, Rigel being the ninth.” He began. “It’s the second brightest star when it’s part of the constellation of Orion…”
War Doctor
You were bleeding through your shirt but you refused to stop until all the children were safe underground. The Doctor had seen you ushering the children and had helped you get them underground, lighting the way. You leaned against the wall, panting for breath and he turned, stopping to help you. He cut the sleeve of your shirt and bandaged you up as well as he could. You kept a hand on your stomach, leaning on him as he helped you the rest of the way.
Ninth Doctor
You looked up when there was a knock on the bedroom door and you smiled at The Doctor when you saw he was leaning against the door frame. “Are you alright?”
You nodded, followed by a wince as you cleaned the cut along your shoulder from a Slitheen claw. It was expected when you were being held by a large alien creature with three large claws on each hand.
“They really need to get manicures.” You thanked him when he took over, lightly dabbing the saline solution on the large scratch.
“Where did you get all these?” He asked, nodding to the box filled with medical supplies you would expect in a GP's bag.
“It was my father’s. He taught me the basics, you know, and I read a lot. I even attended a few lectures and demonstrations.”
“So when you’re not a scientist, you’re a Doctor.”
“Well, I didn’t take any tests or anything. I never had the time.”
He smiled, placing gauze over the scratch, accepting the pieces of tape you handed him to stick it down.
“What?” You asked, noticing his smile.
“Nothing. It’s just when I think I know all there is about you, you still surprise me.”
Tenth Doctor
You wouldn’t be the same after suffering at the hands of The Master, and neither would he. You were starved so you were skinnier and you had bruises on your arms, and he knew there would be more where he couldn’t see.
You had helped Jack fight off the soldiers The Master had hypnotized. You were sitting in your bedroom, staring at the walls as it dawned on you that you were finally back home. You were safe and so was he.
“Here, let me.” He entered the room and your eyebrows furrowed when he lifted the box from your hands, having no recollection of taking it from the bottom drawer of your dresser. You held up your shirt sleeve and he swallowed thickly, trying not to stare at the bruises dotted along your arm. The Master was dead and he had mourned for his friend. You had comforted him, and understood his grief, even though The Master was the reason you were suffering for so long.
“What happened?”
“One of those soldiers took out a knife when I kicked his gun out of his hand. The dude was twice my size and I still kicked his ass.”
His lips turned up in a smile, laughter leaving his lips. You looked up at him, a smile on your lips for the first time in over a year. It had been a long year, but it was over now.
“I didn’t know you kept a first aid kit.” He commented once the laughter had died down.
“I knew it would come in handy one day.”
He put the used items in the trash bin and put the first aid kit in the bottom drawer again, before sitting beside you on the bed.
He didn’t have any words. But when you rested your head on his shoulder he realized he didn’t need any. You didn’t need to be a Time Lord to understand what was going on in his head. He rested his cheek against your hair, placing an arm around your back.
Eleventh Doctor
“I hate reptiles.”
He entered the room, raising an eyebrow at that statement, his eyes falling to your cheek which had a cut on it.
“Two hours ago, I am sure they felt the same way.” He looked around the room, finding your first aid kit. “You should put a bandage on it.”
“I don’t need one.” You playfully rolled your eyes when he held up a bandage with bow ties on it. “Where did you even find those?”
He grinned, shrugging. “Oh come on, please?”
You shook your head. “We already have one bow tie fanatic on board. I don’t think Amy could survive two.”
“Pretty please?” He asked.
You held your hand out, sighing. “Fine.”
“No! I’ll put it on!” He grinned, and you shook your head at his excitement. You titled your head to the side and he gently placed the bandage over your cut. “Why do you have a med kit anyway?”
“When Amy told me about your adventures I thought she was exaggerating. Then we went to Venice and I was nearly killed by an alien fish.”
“Point taken.” He smiled, closing the kit. “Wasn’t all bad though, was it?”
“No. It wasn’t.” You agreed with a smile, knowing he was referring to the kiss you had shared.
Twelfth Doctor
“Stop moving.”
You tilted your head away from his hand and he sighed, hand hovering in the air. “I need to clean it before I put a bandage over it.”
“I know but it stings!”
“Stop being a baby.” He dabbed the saline on the wound on your forehead. “There. Done.” He turned to the table to lift two bandages, “Would you like Hello Kitty or rainbows?”
You leaned your head to look in the first aid kit, “There should be plain ones in there -”
“No. Just Hello Kitty and rainbows. Which one?”
You eyed him suspiciously, “Fine. Give me the rainbows.” He grimaced and you sighed. “Hello Kitty.”
“Great choice!” He grinned.
“You just want to embarrass me, don’t you?”
“Would I do that to you?”
“Yes.”
Thirteenth Doctor
You were never getting on an airplane ever again. Amid all the chaos, you had nearly been sucked out the door and had held onto the bottom of the seats while the group tried to help you.
Your hands were badly cut and bruised from holding on so tightly, and when you returned to the Tardis The Doctor found you cleaning your cuts with saline solution you had found in your first aid kit.
“I have a better idea.” She led you to the med bay and you looked around the large spacious room that had a bed in the middle. “Take a seat.”
You sat down and held your hands out.
“Do you remember the Nanobots we found on Jack’s ship?”
“Yeah, during the war. God, that was a long time ago.”
“Longer for me.” She smiled. “The Tardis has that same technology in this med bay.” She snapped her fingers and you looked at the small Nanogenes as they flew to your hand, feeling the cuts tingle. “Only these Nanogenes are familiar with human anatomy.”
You looked at your hands and saw the cuts and bruises had healed. “You know I think this is the first time you’ve shown me something and it wasn’t because you wanted to impress me.”
“Well…” She trailed off, making you both laugh lightly.
Fourteenth Doctor
After discovering you were pregnant with your firstborn, he took you for a trip in the Tardis and you watched as a star was born. The Doctor believed staying inside the Tardis was the only way to avoid history repeating itself, as many trips you had taken had ended with you getting hurt in a life-threatening situation. However, the landing back home had been rockier than he had planned and you had fallen on your back, your head hitting the floor.
Noticing the Tardis had crashed miles away from home, he set it off into flight, rushing over to help you off the ground. A giggle left your lips at the memories flooding back of similar rocky landings, and he smiled softly as he led you to get an ice pack for your head. You had a feeling it would be the last time he would take you away spontaneously for a long time.
Delgado!Master
It had been a rough trip. Between all the accusations and the fighting, you hadn’t had time to fully process your situation. But now back on the Tardis, you could calmly evaluate the events and remember one detail. He had gotten hurt trying to save you. Granted it was his fault you were captured anyway, but still, he had come back for you and that proved more than words he could say.
He was in the console room, letting the Tardis drift while he let you sleep it off. But you couldn’t sleep due to the events and sought him out. You entered the console room with your hands in the pockets of your oversized hoodie, and The Master turned to you, raising an eyebrow.
“You should be asleep.”
You shrugged. “Not in the mood anymore.” You walked over to him, taking out the small first aid kit from your pocket. “Sit down.”
“Time Lords -”
“Are superior blah de blah blah blah. Sit.” You ordered, pointing to the chair against the railing. He sighed, glancing at you in amusement as he sat down. You lifted his shirt and grimaced at the large cut on his side from a sword. “Being a Time Lord is great and all…but you still bleed.”
You opened your kit and knelt on the floor, feeling his curious stare but not daring to meet his gaze, as you get organized. You cleaned the wound, not missing the slight wince he gave now and then.
“How do you know this?” He asked. “I did not realize you were a nurse.”
“I wasn’t. But I know my fair share. When it requires stitches, then I get queasy.” You placed a bandage over the cut and smiled proudly. “There.” You stood up and took his hand when he held his side while he stood up. “Time Lords are superior in some ways. But just like me, you bleed.”
“We heal quicker.” He said.
“Not quick enough apparently.” You picked up your kit and headed to the doorway.
“Y/N.” You turned around to look at him. “Thank you.”
You smiled, sending him a nod before walking out of the console room.
Ainley!Master
Through your blurry vision, you could see The Master rushing around what appeared to be a hospital room, making a lot of noise as he did so, a few Gallifreyan curses leaving his lips as he searched for what he needed.
“What were you thinking?”
You looked at your stomach, seeing the large three scratches, bleeding through your shirt. You swallowed thickly and looked at the ceiling. “You’re welcome.”
“I could’ve handled it.”
“You didn’t even know what it was.” You winced when he began to clean the wounds. He didn’t apologize, but he was gentler.
He walked to a panel in the wall and you turned your head to watch him fiddle with wires. “W-What are you doing?” You asked, getting weaker.
“Trying to activate the Nanogenes.” He kicked the wall and you closed your eyes, a small smile on your lips.
“Did it help?”
“No.”
“Did it hurt?”
“No.”
“Liar.”
He approached you and placed a hand by your legs, and another by your hair. “I’ll have to do this the…” He grimaced. “human way.”
You would have asked what he meant but he activated a holographic program and you raised an eyebrow when four people appeared, dressed in scrubs.
“Human way my ass.” Your eyes widened when the hologram pressed an instrument to your neck and felt The Master kiss your forehead.
“Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.”
When you woke up, you were in your bedroom, the only signs of surgery were the bandage wrapped around your waist. You turned your head when the door opened, The Master entered, fixing his hair, looking as if he had just run through the Tardis to get to you. Not that he would admit it, of course.
“How are you feeling?”
“A lot better. What was that -”
“Emergency Medical Hologram. Setting Four. Human patient.”
“So I’m not the first then, eh?” You jested as you sat up, The Master quickly stepping forward to help you stand up.
“No, actually. I installed it on your first night. You were asleep so I decided to set certain, precautions.”
You smiled softly. “Thank you.”
He cleared his throat, avoiding eye contact. Your smile grew as you hugged him. “You look evil, but you’re quite lovely sometimes.”
He blinked for a moment, realizing you were right. Around you, he was different. And he had never been so afraid of losing someone, human or otherwise, to create an entire program that would save them.
“Don’t worry. I’ll only tell the first thousand of people we meet.”
He chuckled, returning your embrace. “You wouldn’t dare.”
Roberts!Master
There were gangs all over the city. Some only did theft, some were drug dealers, and others were killers. And when two, or all of the groups collided it was chaos.
The Tardis was parked in an alleyway and you argued with The Master after speaking to The Doctor who had told you that The Master had lied to you so you would help him. And The Master couldn’t say or do anything to make you trust him again. But when you stormed out of the Tardis, he chased after you, hoping to try.
Gunfire could be heard a short distance away and as you argued, tears falling as you stared at the man who had taken over your husband’s body, you could faintly hear it getting louder. A car entered the alley and you shielded your eyes from the bright headlights. Another car followed, gunshots coming from both cars. You felt a hand grab your arm, another on your back to push you into the Tardis. You fell inside, turning with a gasp when you heard the final gunshot. Your eyes widened when you saw the hole in the back of his jacket, screaming when the bullet ricocheted on the Tardis floor.
You jumped to your feet, catching him when he stumbled, seeing the blood seeping through his shirt. “Oh my god!” You took out your cell phone but he stopped you.
“What are you doing?”
“Calling an ambulance.”
“They’d tear me apart. Help me inside the Tardis.” You reluctantly listened and took him inside, following his directions to the med bay. He sat on the bed and he snapped his fingers but nothing happened. “Of course.”
“What?”
“The Tardis won’t help.” He held his wound and you bit your lip anxiously. “She’ll leave me to die.”
You shook your head. You remembered something he told you about the Tardis and ran out of the room, heading through the corridors to the heart of the Tardis. “I know you can hear me! He told me about this place. I also know that you don’t like him, and have a really good reason to want him dead, but…I care about him. It sounds ridiculous but I care about him. I-I love him.” You looked away when tears fell from your eyes. “So you can’t let him die. Please. I’m begging you - save him. Please!”
You felt a hand on your shoulder minutes later and turned to see The Master, a smile on his lips. “You’re okay!” You hugged him tightly and he closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around you.
“Only because of you.”
Jacobi!Master
You had escaped the Daleks by the skin of your teeth and when you had misheard one of his instructions, you sent the Tardis crashing into a hostile planet. Humans had settled on multiple planets, forming colonies and when you crashed right in the middle of a major city, there was no warm reception.
The Master had been shot and you had to listen to him rant about how ‘inappropriate’ it was to be shot by a female. Now, normally you would call him out on his sexism, but as you cleaned and bandaged the wound, his comment distracted you from it, as he said it without seemingly knowing what he had done. There weren’t many days he gave you compliments.
“Why can’t all humans be like you?”
“I guess I’m just special.” You smiled, not taking his words seriously.
“Yes,” He agreed.
You eyed him for a moment as you stuck down the bandage. “There. All done. You know at your age you really should think about taking it easy.” He glared at you, causing you to laugh.
“What do you mean my age?” He stood up and you backed away to the door.
“Elderly.”
You ran away when he chased you.
Simm!Master
Trying to take over a planet ruled by lava creatures probably wasn’t his greatest idea, and even The Master was willing to admit that he regretted it. The civilization had preformed several scans of your anatomy, a painful process and he had saved you, piloting the Tardis a safe distance away before watching the planet destroy itself.
There wasn’t a lot he could do for there were no injuries, just pain which he could make manageable.
You were lying in bed when he checked on you, letting the Tardis drift in space, as it would do until you were better.
“How are you feeling?” He asked.
“A little better.” You told him as he walked over to the bed. “Lie with me?”
He nodded, getting into bed, and kicking off his shoes. He lay on his back and placed his arm around your shoulders when you cuddled into his chest, draping an arm across his abdomen.
“I feel ten times better already.”
He smiled softly, pressing his lips to your forehead, his lips lingering for a moment.
Missy
You looked at the other people queued up to become Cyberman. Not of their own accord. You stumbled across the factory and pretended to be controlled like the other poor unfortunate souls who were being given a death sentence. You kept your eyes peeled for a skinny, tall, grey-haired Time Lord, not seeing a woman in Victorian dress giving you an escape route.
You were placed in a capsule and were wondering where The Doctor was. You heard the others in the capsules beside you, screaming. Your capsule flashed but did not transform you into a Cyberman like the others.
Missy distracted the two Cybermen controlling the experiment, using her umbrella to open your capsule from a distance. You fled the factory, seeing a woman watching you. Before you could approach her, The Doctor appeared and you looked away from the woman, and when you looked back she was gone. It wasn’t until days later that you found out that The Master, now Missy, had saved you from death.
You were still getting used to the idea of The Master being female and well, alive. So when she approached you with a solution to the injuries you had received when you escaped the factory after going back to the factory to destroy the Cybermen.
“What is this place?” You asked, looking around the spacious room that had a very high ceiling.
“The med bay. Every Tardis has one. Didn’t The Doctor mention that?”
You looked at her, your annoyance clear, and she sighed, nodding. You didn’t appreciate her comments about The Doctor, as they were all negative.
“Sit down.” You followed her instructions. “You could even take your shirt off if you like?”
You playfully rolled your eyes at her suggestion and the smirk on her lips. “I’m fine, thanks.”
“Suit yourself.” She snapped her fingers and you were surrounded by small lights, feeling your skin tingle.
“What are they?” You asked, holding your hand up to watch the burn on your hand heal. You had tripped and touched one of the capsules that were set to erupt and burned the palm of your hand.
“Nanogenes. They analyse DNA in order to heal wounded soldiers during the Time War. This Tardis is familiar with humans and so are the Nanogenes.”
“Wait, what happens if they weren’t?”
“You’d be horribly disfigured.”
Dhawan!Master
It was an odd situation you had found yourself in recently. The Master took you with him in his Tardis and after a few trips The Doctor would catch up and ‘rescue you’ and The Master would then ‘save you’ and the cycle would repeat itself. The last few months had been the strangest months of your life. Only when The Doctor knew that given the choice, you would stay with The Master, and stop searching for you did life seem to be almost normal.
You had been on a trip with The Master and encountered one of his past incarnations, getting separated from the incarnation you knew, and caught up in his past troubles with the Daleks.
You had watched as he killed the Gardezzan and knew he had the same painful fate for you. Suddenly the Tardis started shaking and your Master appeared, burgundy coat and all.
You breathed a sigh of relief, when he approached you, checking to make sure you were alright before turning to his past self when he spoke. “Who are you?”
“I’m you. But better, though, eh?” He winked at you and you jokingly rolled your eyes. “Sorry, gramps, I need her for a little while longer.”
You blinked when your surroundings changed to the house and you sighed, walking to sit on the couch.
He sat beside you and took hold of your left arm, examining it. “Just a bruise. I’m amazed he even had the strength to grab you like that.” He stood up and went to the kitchen, returning with an ice pack. “Here.”
You held it against your arm and smiled when he sat beside you, resting your head on his shoulder. “It’s oddly comforting to know that some things never change.”
“What do you mean?”
“You have always been a bad dresser.”
Jamie McCrimmon
You had been tested by the Dominators. The Doctor reckoned you were lucky that your brain wasn’t fried by their machine, and you would be inclined to believe him if it weren’t for the pounding headache you had.
Jamie knocked on the door of your bedroom. You looked at him over your shoulder before lying down again. He entered the bedroom and you turned to him when he sat on the bed.
“I thought you could use a remedy from home.” He handed you the herbal mixture he had hidden behind his back and you thanked him, accepting it.
You had small circular burn marks on both sides of your head and you knew this remedy would soon help it heal.
You laid down and gestured for him to join you. He laid on his side, facing you and you kissed his cheek. “Thank you.”
“I’m just glad you’re alright.”
Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart
“How is she?” Alistair looked over his shoulder at Jo when she entered the room.
“Her temperature seems to have gone down. The fungus may be working, but I don’t think she is recovering as well as The Doctor hoped.” He told her.
“I brought fresh water.” She smiled gently, handing him a bowl with cold water in it.
“Thank you.”
She left the room and he continued to keep you cool with a damp cloth on your forehead. It took days for you to wake up and Alistair only left the room when it was time to destroy the giant maggots. When he returned you were sitting up in bed, eating some soup Jo had made.
“Hello, stranger.” You smiled.
“You’re awake.” He glanced at The Doctor, Benton, and Jo when they left the room to give you privacy. He took off his hat and sat on the bed. “How are you feeling?”
“Much better. Little headache, but I don’t know if that’s because of Jo’s fussing or the giant maggots I’ve heard so much about.”
He chuckled. “Perhaps it is both.”
You laughed lightly, tapping your cheek. He turned your chin gently to kiss you tenderly and you placed a hand on his cheek. “It must have been hard for you to see me like that. I’m sorry.”
“I’m just glad you’re alright.”
“Thanks to you.”
He shook his head and took the soup from your hands. “Here, let me.” You smiled at him when he wasn’t looking, knowing despite how hard the last few days were for him, he refused to leave your side. To see you in such a state, barely considered conscious, was heart-breaking.
Mike Yates
It was dangerous work being a soldier in UNIT. You both understood that when he first gained an interest in the organization. Witnessing the pain he endured was different from imagining.
The city was under attack, and Mike couldn’t get hold of UNIT through the radio, or over the phone. The invasion swept all over the city and you had nowhere to go when Mike was shot. Nowhere except home.
Your first aid kit was basic so trying to patch him up would be a Hail Mary. But you could only work with what you had at your disposal.
Instead of forceps, you had your fingers and you would never forget that feeling of reaching into his wound to get the bullet out.
“That’s good.” He breathed, his chest rising and falling as he tried to keep himself awake. “You’re doing great,” He assured you.
You held back your tears as you placed the bullet on the coffee table.
“Now,” he pointed to the lighter and the knife. “you need to cauterize it.”
“Mike, no -”
“Y/N, please.” He touched your cheek. “It’s going to be fine.”
You followed his instructions, heating the knife before placing it over the wound to seal it. A sob threatened to leave your lips when he cried out in pain. You laid him down when you saw he was sweating and he protested but you were adamant that he rested.
“I’ll keep trying to reach UNIT.” You told him, taking hold of his hand.
He fell asleep and you kissed his hand before leaving him to rest. You went to the kitchen to put the items away, letting your tears fall as your body shook from the sobs you refused to let him hear. He was safe, for now. And you hoped that whatever otherworldly force that was trying to take over the world, would let him rest. Then he could help kick their ass.
Alydon
When he heard you had been injured Alydon had rushed to your side, a deep frown on his lips when he saw you with the healer. He took your hand and you sent him a small smile.
"I’m okay.”
“Barely.” He looked at the healer, “Can you give us a moment?”
She bowed her head before leaving and Alydon sighed as he brushed hair away from your shoulder. “I shouldn’t have let you go.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” You said. “It wouldn’t have been a success otherwise.”
Alydon called the healer when you winced in pain, helping her when he saw how frazzled she was. You smiled softly when she left to fetch you water.
“You’re a natural.” You teased.
Alydon chuckled, bending down to kiss your forehead when he was done. “Get some sleep. I will check on you later.”
You nodded, feeling tired from the medicine and he looked over his shoulder as he left, smiling softly when he saw you were asleep.
Rory Williams
He had been slashed on the arm with a sword during his fight in the Colosseum. He had hidden his pain until you saw the wound. You rushed to get everything you needed to heal him and returned, kneeling on the floor as he sat on the rock He admired you as you patched up his arm, a small smile on his lips.
Ian Chesterton
Your cheek had been cut from an explosion that destroyed a wall. Ian sat between your legs on a stool while you sat on the bed, wincing now and then as he cleaned the wound on your cheek and forehead.
“Sorry.” He put plasters over the cuts and sighed when he was finished. “Are you okay?”
You nodded, wrapping your arms around his waist. He placed his arms around you while you buried your head in his neck.
“Are you lying?” He asked knowingly.
You nodded and he kissed your cheek, holding you tighter.
